Thanks for posting this. I've looked back at my other posts and yeah, there's an alarming amount of negativity. It's mainly because I've been sick for more than a week, and LoS has been the unfair recipient of my ire.

Don't get me wrong. Despite my perhaps too angry posts, I did enjoy the game, quite a bit actually. It's mainly that there are a number of trends from modern gaming that I really, really didn't want in a Castlevania that LoS unfortunately introduced. Discoalucard (original Dungeon creator) described it pretty well, that it's a ton of little problems that add up to a lot.

Yea I understand, I feel that same way. I love LOS, but there were a couple things that bothered me too, which started to turn in to bigger things after putting all those hours into it to get the platinum. I think one of my least favorite parts of the game was Death's long speech/explanation before the final battle...that laugh makes me cringe everytime. Ah-ha...ah....AH!  I found the epilogue interesting, but it also has me worried for future games.

Regardless, I liked it alot and I'm looking forward to the dlc.

Never been able to play it yet, and I don't think I'll be able to do it before the DLC's come out. Watching LoS vids makes me dying of envy.

I have to admit, I've warmed up to the time machine idea if Gabriel goes into the future to fight Dracula Himself (I assume this will be the subject matter of the 2nd DLC). It sounds hilarious and existential.

And RE Master, yeah I gotta agree with you, the stuff with Zobek at the end was very cringe worthy. And fighting him as Death really would have made up for it. But NOOOO. (I have to admit, when that huge obelisk thing appears after the Dracolich fight, I was expecting a hard ass final level.)

No offence but good god that sounds like the worse idea i've ever heard for a Castlevania storyline. Its just completely ridiculous when you consider it.

Traveling to the future to fight himself?

That would completely ruin any hopes i have for the LOS plot in future installments.

True IGA did this somewhat in COD and Judgement but the thing was Saint Germain wasn't allowed to act upon matters related to fate since that could easily mess up things in the future which made time travel a non issue but having Gabriel go into the future to fight himself would trully cause some sort of time mess up.

I'd much rather have Cox introduce a TRUE belmont to fight against dracula and not someone who will become another dracula in the future.

(Maybe Spoilers) Maybe Gabriel will fight the real incarnation of Death, who will consider him as his master. Or another Belmont, like Simon or Trevor. Or Slogra, that would explain why there is a Slogra corpse in the ending.

The idea of Gabriel time-traveling makes me uneasy.  Now then, if he were to fight a time-traveling creature in a time rift, well that would be a different story.

If you read the monster descriptions in the beastiary, you would know that the reapers in the Necromancer's Abyss are the physical manifestation of death.  In other words, instead of there being one, there are many.  However, a fight with Zobek (Dark Lord of the Necromancers) would have been epic.  It would have been a nice warm up before the fight with Satan.  Actually, that's what should have been instead of that battle with the dracolich.
It should have like this:
Chapter 11: Necromancer's Abyss
Chapter 12: Dark Lord of Necromancers => Final Battle (Satan)

None taken. And yeah, it's pretty corny. Hey, it's not completely my idea; I'm just inferring from what little information we were given. All signs point to this happening (that is, if the two DLCs are in chronological order, or as best they can be for using time travel). And it's not like the writing and story aren't already terrible to begin with; at least this way we have something resembling a real Dracula fight, yes? Keep in mind the... uh.. whatever R word they used for the future scenario was said to have a battle with "a notorious enemy". (And this way, Dracula might end up becoming someone else.) The original ending and this kind of conclusion just scream Hideo Kojima, though. I'm sure it was his idea.

Of course, it could also be that I'm completely wrong, and maybe Gabeula ends up fighting ZoDeath. But it seems like that would not only go against Gabeula's desire to die, but also require a completely new character moveset for one DLC chapter, which wouldn't be the best use of resources.

But of course, this would also point against Gabeula putting up a fight against Gabriel... I guess we'll have to wait and see what actually happens.

I say YES to this idea, but a bit different.

Chapter 11: Necromancers Abyss --> Dracolitch/Fake Necromancer
Chapter 12: Fight Zobek/real Necromancer (battle ends when Zobek decides he's had enough, and uses gauntlet to control Gabriel)
Chapter 13: Satan (extra cool cause it's chapter 13, yo.)

Oh, and just putting it out there that time traveling self fighting Gabriel story idea makes baby Jesus cry.  Just sayin'.

Ah, you make me want to play it more and more (but I can't actually).

And what if Gabriel has to fight Mathias Cronqvist? It seems they're living at the same time and would be from the same family according to Cox. Thats would make Gabriel taking Leon's role and becoming, instead of Mathias, Dracula.

I like this. A Zobek dark lord battle would have been great. Yes, I realize the Satan thing was supposed to be sudden but from a gameplay stand point it did feel too sudden, meaning the last boss like character fought was a Necromancer,  then you have a cutscene before the Dracolich battle and then the battle itself which was more platforming than anything else... 20 more mins of cutscene and then...FINAL BATTLE time! I think I may have died alot less with a "pre" final boss before Satan. Im still happy with how the story played out though.
I now Prossess a what?

After the time machine reveal, I don't think I want to know anything else. The whole idea really turns me off of the DLC.  I'll still be picking it up though.....I'm such a fool.

You know, I´m really wondering if they´ll implement the DLC right into the game, like, after you see the credits Reverie starts (just like Ubisoft did with the Assassins Creed 2 DLCs), or if MS will go the easy way and just add an option on the menu oO

If you ask me... option one is prefered, imo

I don't know. Just from the titles and the reveal about the time machine it would make sense for Reverie to involve time travel to the past and Resurrection to involve Gabriel -> Dracula stuff.

So Death is now a regular enemy. How unbelievably lame.

I still hope Zobek eventually turns out to be the uber Death (ie the one we know and love). Death being demoted to a normal baddie is just beyond anticlimactic, no matter how hard he hits.
