If you want, but the original Death Bat is more like a Slogra predecessor; it's got a beak and a prominent rib cage.

3- Oddly choosen music? Aquarius, New Messiah, Riddle, Reincarnet Soul and more is Oddly Chosen? man go to Doctor and see your ear plz...

Because none of it is from the original Castlevania Adventure game. No Battle of the Holy, Revenge, or Theme of Lengend of Dracula - all wonderful tracks that need some lovin' in the form of good remixes. Its not at all that the tracks they chose are bad by any means (I love that Reincarnated Soul showed up somewhere after Bloodlines). Its just that THEY AREN'T FROM ADVENTURE.

Goes back to my question of, what's the point of remaking a game if you aren't going to take a majority of the elements that actually made the original game tolerable? Classic tunes and bosses make a game, in my opinion. So, it's not really a remake....it's a "re-imagining". Which is probably why its not a Chronicles game....but why not go all that way? Would it have taken that much longer or more effort?

Perhaps because the original game sucked? We are CV fans and we like it, but go around there, few people outof us liked the Adventure - remember, it was made faster than normal because it was almost launched with the Game boy, and the team was too unexperienced - so, why make exactly the original? why not only take the best - enemies, conception of stages - and make it better? This is what remakes should be - even if this is a reimagining - the best of the originals and improved.

And there is music from Belmont's revenge. Yes, I know, but it's something. Adventure original music was not that good.

Everything comes full circle

I agree. I dont see the point in remaking a game and not updating any of the original material or music. Though the game still looks fun to play.

Unless konami announce the name of the midboss in stage1, we can assume Deathbat is in the game.  Only the crappy wormboss commin from holes and the boss/non-boss knight with morning star are  not in rebirth

The game does retain most of the normal baddies.  For instance, the crows, the bird-lookin monster who has only two legs, the spear knights, worms, bats, the guy with the two boomerangs, and the eyeball are all in the game.

Well from that bit of information it seems like they did try to include some of the enemies. I'll have to actually play the game though in order to make a proper conclusion on it. Thanks for the info.

I don'tknow about you, but the bat creture seems similar to the boss in the gb original

He does have a prominent rib cage and the beak is debatable
esp how the bat boss in rebirth has a long nose.  Maybe whoever did the sprites did her/his own idea of what the deathbaat looks like and maybe thought the "beak" is a long snout.

I mean, the rib cage, beak, and slogra connection are spectulations by Kurt Kalata.

That is if the death bat doesn't have a lineart drawing in the manual

No problem.  I just want to give correct info so that other CV fans won't get discourage in purchasing the game esp how misinformed info can sway a person

Other than the morning star knight and maybe the slime enemies, most if all the non-boss enemies are in rebirth

There are even some new and original ones, as well as some old enemies

Anyone has a feelin that there might be two bosses (not counting mid-bosses)per stage? I realize that there are doors in stage 1 n 2,where several ppl playing the levels on youtube videos ignores

I am aware of the alt route videos, but I notice htat in stage 2, there is another locked door after the players open the previous locked door

Yeah that is true though if I had a Wii I would still buy it just to give it a shot and if konami gets a good profit from it they might release others. After I get a ps3 and a new tv ill probably end up getting a Wii so I can give it a shot (hopefully it will be out in the states by then) and also give Judgment a shot even though I haven't heard much good about it other then it has a lot of fan service.

I also hope they get ms kojima to release some official artwork. I would like to see how she envisions Christopher even though from the looks of his sprite he just seems to be doing the Simon Belmont warrior thing which isn't bad.

I still think some sounds are just weird (yes, the bone throwing sound is one of them). Does Konami really need to use old stock cartoon sounds with 20+ Castlevania games with original sounds at hand?

And for the music, "oddly chosen" is not the same as "bad music", so I guess I'll save the money for that Doctor.

After watching many of the gameplay videos, I'm only in love with Stage 3. The remaining levels look sorta easy, but even that I'll buy it and I'll play it (in Hard) =P

Regarding the sound effect concerns, I'm pretty sure that SotN even used a cartoony sound effect in the original Japanese version...and I don't believe that said sound effect made it into the U.S. version.

Basically, after Death steals Alucard's equipment, he swoops down slightly before he floats toward the top of the screen, emitting a cartoony "swoop" sound effect of sorts. I honestly don't remember ever hearing this in the U.S. version.

Anyway, I'm more concerned that I have yet to see a game play vid of somebody jumping onto or off of stairs. Does anyone here happen to know if stair-jumping is possible?
