Topic: Rondo on VC -- Is it good enough to replace the original with?

So I've got Rondo of Blood on the TGCD and I absolutely love the game, but I'm thinking about selling it and just rebuying the game on the Virtual Console.  As far as I know, the only differences are the Wolfman wearing boxers, and the changed intro audio (which I actually prefer.)  Is there any reason not to opt for the VC release instead?  Any problems or deficiencies compared to the original?

I have both, and I think it's just as good on the VC. If you really want to get rid of your CD you won't be missing out on anything

Ah you're lucky to have it and a Turbo CD...  I myself wouldn't sell it because I still prefer some elements of the original and the sake of owning, but you should sell it if you really want to.

Emulation is never going to be quite as good as the original game on the original system, and plus, you get CD quality music—the tunes on the VC release would have to be compressed quite heavily.

Plus, it's a rare collector's item.

But, hell, if you don't want it, give it to me. :o

As a collector I will tell you this, NEVER SELL THE ORIGINAL OR THE CONSOLE IT GOES WITH.  

Trust me you'll eventually regret doing so, a ROM cannot replace a genuine article.

It sounds like you really have no reason to keep it, unless you're one of those oddball collectors.

If not, than by all means get rid of it.

Also, the new intro on the VC release blows goat dick since it's still fairly out of sync, and the newer voiceover is REALLY LOUD compared to the rest of the game. It's also not the original voiceover, and I can't understand why authenticity, artistic merit, and original intent are not important to most people. (How else can you explain so many full screen DVDs having been sold over the years? For motion pictures meant to be widescreen, that is.)

And wolfman dong. WOLFMAN DONG! HOW CAN YOU DENY THE GLORY OF WOLFMAN DONG?!!?!

Do you need the cash? Are you reeeeeaaaaaally desperate for money? (And I mean REALLY desperate, like you need to pay some overdue bills or get some food in your belly; I don't mean, "Is there some other bit of entertainment or a boat or some shit that you reeeeaaaally want right now?") If not, then I say keep the game. You'd be farking crazy to sell it otherwise.

But again, you can just give it to me for free, and I won't complain.
