Same over here. And said weapons should only be used on single runs since they allow you to kill enemies with ease. Though its kinda hard for other people to keep the valamnways to a minimum when a majority of the players love using cheap tactics. Though maybe it'd be best to play with a party of friends so things wont get too out of hand.
True that. Well, I have a feeling we'll be able to find some decent party members here on the forum. I'll probably post my Gamertag on that thread above sometime. Pity its release is around the same time lots of us start classes again ^^"

Isn't there a function in the game for a private online party? or at least something along those lines

Yea, does suck that it gets released when people start school. As for decent party members, i'm not sure cause at least 75% of them have a 360 only. Still might be enough to make a full party though.

And yes, there is a function in games to host private online parties. Most online games have them and this game should be no exception. Heck i already have a few friends to play this with though i'm pretty sure whoever hosts will make it a private party, myself included.

Well, I'm definitely down for some HD, so I really should check out the gamertag thread and add some people. I got a request from Deko and I added him, but he's the only one so far. It is September now, so the release is right around the corner.

You know, I can't help but wonder if it's still possible to crash the game in around 10 seconds in the PS3 version like in this video:
HOLY LIGHTNING!!!!!

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Ah, awesome sauce. I'll get around to posting my gamertag and adding people once Im not feeling lazy to turn on my PS3 to get my gamertag xD Count me on adding you for sure. Judging from the people who did put in their gamertags, we should already have enough to get a full party. Though alot more is bound to come in once the game kicks in full swing.

Oh yeah, now question is if it will be released this Tuesday, after the playstation PLAY promotion, or sneaks in somewhere inbetween... If Konami is good to keeping their schedules, then its probably gonna be this Tuesday as that is technically the end of Summer and is in September. Course I don't know enough about Konami to make any assumptions; only became a Castlevania fan late last year xD

You can actually display your gamertag for both PSN and XBLA right on your profile. ;)
It'll show up left of your post.  We also can put up your Steam account. ;)

Dunno, but that'll probably be fixed by the time the PS3 version is released.

I hope it gets released this tuesday, since i remember seeing a DL game sneak its way into the market during the PLAY promotion. Then again, i don't think it matters if the PLAY promotion is happening or not, games that arn't promoted will still be released regardless. Also i'll be looking forward to receiving your friend request. Though like Jorge said, you can put your PSN tag on your forum profile for easier viewing.

Ah, so you finally added me. When the game comes out, i'd be happy to put you in my party.
Just hope i'm not in a party by then since i already have alot of people to play with.

Ah, much appreciated for letting me know ^^ I'll get cracking on that when I can. Course I don't own the 360 though, hahaha

True that again, though I rarely ever find games to look forward to, which is why Im not as up to date on the happenings in the gaming world. But in recent years fighting games have been making a come back and of course just got into Castlevania and the Persona series so I've got quite a few games to hunt down and try out. But back onto the game sneaking past the PLAY promo, the sooner the better xD Thankfully Im not taking that many classes this semester so I'll have a bit more free time.

Imma actually work on getting that PSN stuff now, might as well before the holidays end and I possibly forget xD

Well getting back into track, what tuesday do you guys think the PSN version will come out? Me i'm thinking as close as this tuesday.

On a different note to the other people that arn't waiting, we don't want to hear how much HD sucks, alright? we've heard it a hundred times already and its already old. Yes all it does is recycle sprites for new gameplay but who cares about the graphics! Besides, hasn't anyone noticed that each CV release has a new little feature that sets it apart from the other games yet still be the same gameplay wise? Ok that's a little off topic but still.

My thoughts exactly; this coming Tuesday would make both general dates Konami gave us to be true. So Imma be hoping it comes out this Tuesday.

Back in my day, it was the gameplay that meant the most for gamers (<- Sounding like an old man). But yeah and sprites have been recycled quite a bit over the years (save the touch ups on some enemies to my knowledge) and that made little difference to how much fun the game was. Even the level grinding is dependent on the taste of the player, and not everyone will think its bad; particularly if it warrants people to spend long hours playing through the same stages just to get the best equipments.

Oh, another question we could ask is what character will our PS3 side players be using first. I'll be maining Richter if he's offered for sale right off the bat, otherwise I'd either use Alucard, Soma or Shanoa first. Im interested to see, since we all might end up working together at some point xD

The sooner the better, right?

All in all, graphics don't matter, weither or not they reused graphics. The gameplay is the one that counts. People baww about the simplest things i swear. On a different note, there could be a chance that it goes down the same route as Castle Crashers, where the game gets a few more stuff than the 360 version, least that was the case with CC since it had all DLC characters that were available in the 360 plus 2 new modes that wern't present in the 360 version. Then again that's kinda like a "tales of" series treatment (the "tales of" series is an rpg series by namco btw), in which the port gets more extras than the original release.

As for the character i'm using, it'll either be Julius, Alucard or Jonathan. But if i end up maxing out those 3, i'll move onto Shanoa, Soma and Richter if the DLC pack is released on the same day. Not really gonna touch Charlotte that much cause i never feel right using a magic user. And before you start thinking that i'm a little hypocritical about that, Shanoa counts more as a magic knight than a magic user.

Yep, sooner the better, since at least in the first week or so work won't be so heavy and all.

Yeah, extra modes would be more likely than getting new characters/stages DLC. Course that might just be the offline multiplayer, but doesn't hurt to hope for more for the game. Tales of series happens to be one of my favorites as well, but thats a side note xD Not everyone can be pleased with a game, but usually its just their tastes that differ from the games design. Problem in recent years though, visuals have become more of a push with game companies vs making games with actual quality gameplay. Also probably why a lot of gamers are crying out for the classic games because back then gameplay was the most important, and visuals came in a close second.

Not at all in regards to not using Charlotte xD Charlotte like Yoko is more focused on magic vs their close range attacks. Maria will likely function as she did in Rondo of Blood with her summons, probably using her speed to her advantage. Shanoa would be the most balanced of the spell users since she has the weapon Glyphs and Spell Glyphs. her maneuverability is also something nice to have with the Magnus and all. I do prefer Shanoa as well, but at the moment thats because I played OOE before, and barely have touched POR yet. Oh right, majority of what I said is assumptions plus some reading I've done on the characters, can't say for sure xD

For as long as I can keep going on multiplayer games, I'll probably work with all of the characters and try to at least get them all to a decent level with decent equipment, so I can use whatever the situation calls for (or whatever my friends aren't using or what characters they want me to use xD).

Another thing to discuss; I heard Alucard got the short end of the stick as he just was not as powerful or very useful in comparison to the other characters (I think that statement was specific to his spells, and that valmanway and the other broken weapon were his only redeeming points). Can't say its true, but I am curious as to what makes him stand out from the others gameplay wise... Im guessing his strongest point would be the special weapon techniques like what he had in SOTN.

I've really given no thought to who I'll be playing as. Of the 5 "main" characters, Shanoa and Julius interest me the most.

I'm hoping they release it sooner than later as I'm pretty excited to finally play it.

Now Im also hoping my internet doesn't lag on me ^^" Otherwise it'll be hard to find a party on day one
