Im willin to bet IGA spent quite a few "private meetings" on his knees just to get the go ahead for this at all much less any budget. With LoS comin from a completely different team hes not even part of Im pretty sure hes on his last continue at the helm of the series

This literally would not surprise me.

I was suppose to say something profound here. I don't 'do' profound so much as ramble so...whatever. Here lies text. Congratulations for reading it.  You were as bored as I am. Seriously, stop reading, you can't be that bored.  Still here? Really?  You officially are my new favorite person and now are owed one internet cookie. Don't eat it though, it gives you bad gas.

i see that Jonathan is using a chain whip (probably VK), axe, and dagger in the trailer.  looks like he'll be mostly a Belmont in this game.  good to have one.  wonder if they'll emphasize Charlotte's Belnades-ness and give her a fire, ice, and thunder spell?

All I've got to say is: This looks immensely funnier than Judgement. Seems to me like an ok approach to the casual market, a lot better than a puzzle game anyway.

With the launch of LoS, I'll have to buy a Xbox360 or a PS3. I guess i'll go with the Xbox because of this little game, I can certainly see myself playing this with my GF (CV fan too) now and then.

I want him to go and make Nanobreaker 2, IGA, stop making spin-off CV's please, you make me feel ashamed.

I know this was only a photoshop joke, I hated Judgement and dissaprove the lack of inspiration of recent games but... somehow your post made feel kind of angry. This IGA bash is totally unfair, many of you guys are forgetting all the things we owe to this man.

The game looks so slow and plodding in action, a horrible step down from OoE's smooth fast-paced combat. Also, there's no cohesion between the rooms at all. Everything is literally... slapped on. People say to lower standards just because it's a side project, but why would I support a low budget side project when that budget can be used for a more polished game. It's even more disappointing that it's the first 2D console game since SoTN. The whole Gergoth can shoot you from the other side of the stage is a horrendous idea. The pixel art of the DS games are meant to be seen at a closer level. The idea that you have to zoom out and can see the whole room not only ruins that aesthetic but it destroys the element of anticipation, traversing rooms. The exploration aspect of the Metroidvanias is completely stripped, but we don't even get decent level design as a compensation. From the maps shown, the enemy placements, the platforms, it's all just there. There's no sense of rhythm or pace. There's no groove. Everything about this game is arbitrary. This game is less Castlevania than Lords of Shadows.

Though I appreciate the new art for Jonathan and Charlotte, I rather they never showed up ever again.

Holy crap, that doesn't look too bad. The backgrounds are super polished, almost, might I even say, better looking than SotN's backgrounds. Wow!

Yeah, I owe him having transformed my favourite saga in a mime circus, bland storylines and laughable spin offs, I owe him having 12 years with the same game re-skinned, oh, only partially re-skinned because all of them had half of SOTN sprites. I owe him so much things, I also owe him the awesome Ecclesia destroyed by bad storytelling, and now I owe him the shameful Harmony of Despair.

I owe him nothing.

Blah blah blah... I owe him nothing.

I remember a thread not too long ago "What will you miss about IGA?", here's your answer:

I would miss:
1- He likes working with Ayami and Yamane, those two are the great missing gears of LoS.... ok, I will have them again in the Alucardvania xD
2- His knowledge about the classics and the easter eggs he puts into the games.
3- His goth atmposphere sense.
4- He likes hgis work; his work is bad sometimes, but he loves it; I don't know if dave Cx really love CV as IGA does.

Now, please, be more coherent with your own words.

My opinion about IGA has nothing to do with LoS being a great sucess or a total failure, (or just looking pretty good, which is the only thing we really know at this point). First and more obvious reason is that he is not the producer of this game, and second one is that Konami NEVER gave him the budget this new production has been given.

Whatever. I'm not an IGA fanboy, but this image you posted kind of touched a nerve on me.

This game actually looks really fun. I feel like the players move too slow though, that's my only gripe. This game was developed on a small budget, you can tell just by looking at it.

Hope this sells well, I'm looking forward to this more than Lords of Shadow now.

Sorry, but I had to post this. Are you bipolar or something like that?? Seriously, it doesn't matter the forum I see you posting (Sonic Retro, Sega forums), you're always like this: "OMG, this game is awesome"... two seconds later: "WTF, this game is terrible"... then people post some good reactions and you "That's the best thing ever". GOD, stop being so inconstant. X_X

That being said, I found this game better than I was expecting. But what I'm more interested now is that Iga confirmed he's working with more Castlevania besides this game, plus his interest on 3DS.

Yes, and it's about fuckin time! I mean, I think all of us were hoping to see IGA's castletroids, some time on the DS, with backgrounds, if anything, that were NEAR that of SotN, at the very least. OoE had some backgrounds that came close, while others were really, how do I say it, "chunky". That's probably the best word to describe most post-SotN 2D CV backgrounds. While the backgrounds in Harmony of Dispair aren't NEW, they do seem to have an extra coat of polish on them that makes the look better than they were before. Shiny and less pixelated. That's all I've been asking for all these years. If IGA DOES have future CV projects in mind, I really hope his peeps continue to use THOSE types of backgrounds(sleek-looking). No more super pixel "I made it on MS Paint" type of shit.

I find a lot of the CV fans on this forum odd to tell you the truth.  They usually seems to be unhappy about almost anythin', and seems to like bashing on IGA, who has for the past decade, released a bunch of CV games.  I am sure someone will argue that quality isn't quantity, but why support the CV games, considering that somebody else had made a CV game for years?  Sure, there is Cox's CV game commin' out this year, but most of the posters who shows their disdain towards IGA's games have been playing his titles for years.

Even in games that have has mostly new sprites like the Wiiware CVA game, someone will find scan the entire tiles to find recycled sprites.  There are even a few posters who bash the game for being a reinteration of the GB original Castlevania Adventure game despite that the title has the words, "Rebirth" in it.

I don't understand the logic behind "I was a fan of Castlevania until I seen pics of this new IGA CV title called (insert new Castlevania game made by IGA).  It is as if any new game IGA makes regardless of how fun it is, people complains.

It doesn't make sense for people to continue to bash IGA, yet continue to play his videogames.  The only thing I can think of is that bashing IGA on the interweb is "cool".  Just give the dude some slack.

As for Harmony of Despair, in my opinion, it appears to be a party game that would keep CV fans interested until LOS comes out.

I missed the conference yesterday. Anybody know where I can watch it, specifically, the parts about Castlevania, besides Konami's site? They don't let you fast forward.
