Are you fucking serious?

Nerds like you make me lol. Why are you so damn bitter? If you don't like it then gtfo this topic, quit being angry, go outdoors and quit complaining.

To everyone else: I agree the game isn't a masterpiece, & it should've been sold for $10 or less, but if it's really ruining your perspective on Castlevania as a whole then I feel sorry for you. There's still a bright future ahead so a little download title won't be enough for me to get riled up & condemn Konami/IGA.

ha, well, there's no new enemies that i know of, but at least they're throwing in some new items.  i heard on GameFAQs that they had Simon's Sandals and Simon's Bandana or Headband in Hard Mode.

i also have to say there is a "lot" of activity on the GameFAQs boards.  seems like a lot of people who don't know any better are enjoying this game.

If you don't want pay for the downloadable content, you have the option to not download it. It's how games are now.

Also, the Julius swinging looks fun!
What a horrible night to have a curse!

That's thruth, however, hey, this game was just released, I'm sure they could have put those characters/stages in the original game, even more shameful,, people at gamefaqs ripped the game and found unused music and assets... the characters and stages are already there, you will pay for unlocking them!

The thing is, if you're gonna have downloadable content in a game, make sure the original game at least feels like a complete game. The downloadable content should be a bonus, but in this case it was quite obvious from the start that Harmony of Despair was not a complete game with only 6 levels and whatnot... They always intended to release the game in small portions, which is just plain ugly. I know more developers do this, but never before has it been this obvious to me.

To do that you need money and more staff, both things are not available to IGA anymore. This is a low budget/low risk game, deal with it. The game is fun, old sprites or not.

Well you know. They did kinda make a few new assets.
And it's pretty ludicrous to think that this game has that low of a budget that they cant spend a little more. And this just seems especially true when other games are chapter and feature new graphics and more polish and etc.

Well, if you want bonus characters and bonus levels, you have to buy them. It is becoming a trend.

Isn't it a shame? That's why I don't buy DLC.

Man, I'm not really having much fun with this game, to be honest. And some things about this game feel like it was designed intentionally to piss the player off. Like how you have to fight 5 or so Dullahans in Chapter 3 (which can be very time-consuming, depending on character), the are long pits/hallways that lead to nothing but a grimoire icon (zooming out could prevent this, but I digress), and you can't pause or equip items on the fly for no good reason.

And I'm never been one to constantly criticize IGA every game but...this is awful. I think the reviews hit the nail on the head when they said this was a good idea executed poorly. While I have yet to play a multiplayer game, which I hear makes the game a lot better, this game just seems to have too many fundamental flaws. I just hope IGA does a much better job next time around.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

So you like Mega Man? I used to post there several years ago on the old forum. Just beat the X & Zero collections, working on ZX.

I'd be more excited about the DLC if it wasn't features already coded in the game, that have just been locked out so you need to activate it by buying it. By the way, if no one knew, Julius and Maria are in the game already, sprites and all, but you have to pay to unlock him. Yes, that's right, and I have personally verified it. Oh just so you know the new sprites they added for Julius are even more terrible than his existing Dawn of Sorrow set. I could seriously do the same or better.

Go screw yourself Konami. I will not pay for unlocking shit already in the game.

My bad, I made a mistake. The DLC is actually additional content not present in the original game files. I kinda extracted them to the same directory by mistake...

Man, final boss third form with Alucard is impossible to me, with other characters is not that hard but with Alucard, I just can't do it, no matter how hard I try.

Well, that is lame...

I agree... if it's already in the game, it a dumb ass practice. If it's supposed to already be in the game, it's a dumbass practice. If it's something that they thought of afterwards, and is worth it, not some tacked on pos... then we got something... possibly. But those were there before, called expansion packs.

Oh, you're the same guy that joined TMMN today, right? Since you mentioned Mega Man, I should point out that my friend paid for some of the MM10 DLC, since he wanted to see it (but didn't want the game), so... It's still technically true that I've never given my money to planned DLC, haha.
But I agree that not all DLC is bad - all planned DLC is bad. That is, withheld content. But I'm just stating an old argument...
