One interesting point about the chosen characters, besides the fact that they are all in a DS game, is that these characters can all equip different items. I'm guessing there will be different weapons for these heroes to pick up.
Defeating evil: Apparently easy.
Defeating the Lord of Darkness with a whip and some water: Damn.

But so, at least Hector should enter. Since he can use any type of weapon and very good.
A hero becomes a hero not because he wants to, but by what he does.

I'm not saying Hector should not be in this game. I'm just stating a simple observation anyone could have picked up on.

One things I'm a little concerned about is the lack of what appears to be a "selected sub-weapon" icon on the game screens and the apparent lack of a weapon choice menu on the character select screen.  This leads me to surmise that each character will only be given one primary weapon and one subweapon.  Or else, perhaps each ability is "innate" and is pulled off with a different button combination.  Perhaps the system is complicated like Alucard's spell system in Symphony of the Night or like Street Fighter, but I'm sure the X-Box 360 controller has more than enough buttons that could simply be pressed or pressed while holding up to make for a variety of easily executed attacks.  It doesn't look like they're cycled through like in Julius Mode in Dawn of Sorrow or obtained from candles.  Of course, there might be an equip menu that we're just not seeing, but given the real time nature of this game, I am not expecting one.  Its possible that you have all these abilities from the beginning or that they are earned, perhaps as rewards for defeating the boss or as scrolls in treasure chests.  I'm going to guess that the stuff in the treasure chests though are going to be universal things any character could use and get the same benefit from, similar to the things you find in Order of Ecclesia's training areas, like Speed Up, Defense Up, Attack Up, Jump Higher, HP Refresh.  I do hope they have enough interesting weapons available to keep the game more varied.

I think the most important questions are "will this be fun" and "will this be worth $10" (or whatever they charge).  I think the answer may very well be "yes" to both of these.

I simply cannot get over how homebrew-ish this game looks. It seems just thrown together.
Thank God there's Lords of Shadow in the making, otherwise I would've been kinda depressed right now.
Also, if there's no single player in Harmony of Despair, I think I'll pass, regardless of how "fun" the game is..

it looks like there are single player modes in this game.  here's a link that has a few more pics than were posted here so far.  one is of the main menu before character select.  another is of an even more zoomed in view.  i was worried that you might not be able to zoom in any more than the screenshot that shows about a quarter of the map.  there's also a download content menu, which means the game might be expandable.

Hmm... "Select a character to play as" immediately followed by "Select character", on the very same screen? Why write it twice? Stuff like that makes this look like a hoax. Or at least really amateurish. Or just unfinished, hopefully.

Well, good thing there seems to be a single player mode, at least.

Hmm... Those screenshots worry me. The graphics are lifted from previous CV games as well as enemies and bosses. That is something we all know a fangame would do; Not a professional game company. I wonder if IGA's team has just stopped trying to be creative. While I'm all for anothe 2-D CV...this one isn't shaping up to be a good one due to the lack of creativity. It's really sad.  :'(

I would call this fake, but I know better.

I can't see there being much lasting appeal with this one.  I mean, six-player?  Woo!  Push boxes, jump on shoulders?  Race to kill the boss?  It's hot stuff.

Part of me secretly hopes Cox/Konami dropped this in as disinformation to keep Lords' in the limelight.  Either way, Lords' is still in the  limelight.

Before Order of Ecclesia was released and those screen shots were leaked everyone here was saying those were fake too. So I doubt that this is. The only thing that I hoping is fake, is the reuse of sprites. I keep seeing articles saying HD so I'm hoping they are HD and maybe for now they're just using the old sprites for testing it or something. But I doubt this.

I'm kind of glad this isn't a "real" game, cause I don't have a 360 and don't plan on getting one, so I won't be too disappointed if I don't play it. But maybe it'll be on the PS3, I'll check it out then.
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Does anyone know how all this info leaked? There seem to be too many screens to be a normal leak. Dunno...
I guess it's legit, but it's kinda weird that we get all this info from everywhere... How can Konami let this happen AGAIN after the Ecclesia leak? It's really really weird.

Because its not real.

Ecclesia was probably just as planned though. What better advertising and feedback, than to leak something? Viral marketing.

So there were three possible games (a Japanese one, Mercury Steams' LoS, and a known European one) and IGA is behind the European game.  :-\ I know people do love to bash him for his 'incompetence' but geez. Let's actually see his name on this BS of a title first--or heck, let's find out if it's even real before we're ready to punch some people at Konami in the face for even letting this happen.  If this is actually real (I refuse to believe it is until it's presented at E3 or Konami actually claims this pile of crap), and this was the type of crap Lords of Shadow went up against, no WONDER why it won...

If I am not mistaken, I have read article on Kotaku, this forum, or Joystiq that Mercury Storm is making a CV 2d tie-in game to celebrate the release of 'Lords of Shadow'.
