itll come out on somethin else... the days of exclusives are over. Unless the company that makes the console makes the games they wont be exclusive... atleast not for long. It costs too much to make games these days to NOT put em on any platforms you can

Sweetie, I was being nice. I personally think your unnecessary need to pick apart ever reply against you makes you look like you're trying too hard and is annoying as all hell. You've made it known you have high hopes for the game. Good for you. You're hijacking the thread.

Makes me wonder why the shit I even bother, though.

Is this thing playable in a solo run?
'Cause I hate being forced to play with other people.

yep.  i wonder if there'll be any differences between single mode or multiplayer mode (such as difficulty levels or item collection experiences), or if it will be essentially like playing multiplayer mode with only one person?

Oh great, this thread suddenly turned into the classic, "IGA's a sexist pig!!" thread.

Not really what I was trying to say but I guess IGA is making Otomedius Excellent so he created Kokoro Belmondo thus I rest my case.  :-X

oh and The Silverlord, I'm not sure how much extra money I'll have to spend months from now, so don't count on any freebies, I already have some friends I'm buying this for.

Dash, and here I was hoping your unbridled delight and enthusiasm for this game would extend to the odd gift for the rare doubter here as a “proof is in the pudding” offering.  Guess we’re not at that rhetoric stage just yet.

Will the game be 400 or 800 MSP I wonder?

I'm glad that you can play solo, I hope the HP of the bosses is not the same for 1 or 2-6 players.

People personally decide what is a masterpiece to them, not the majority vote.

And I suppose that's you. I don't recall seeing anyone think this. And Yeah, I can't see the majority fanbase, but neither can you so stop acting like you know what all the fans want. It's really frustrating when you reply with a contradiction remark like those. If by your words I have no idea what the fanbase wants, than neither do you.

It's SELFISH to think only DS users would appreciate the retro sprites.
That's a funny remark. How is it selfish? I'm talking on a marketing level. It would make more sense for this title to be released on the Wii Console rather than XBOX. And maybe the DS owners would appreciate them more because the have been playing the games that uses those sprites.

Also at this point it's useless to say "oh they should of used these other sprites because of this or this."
The game is already finalized what assets it will use and many gamers will have no problem with it, even
if they never picked up a DS before.

There you go, many gamers….so you know what these gamers want huh? This is what I mean like you sound like a salesman. Trying to convince everyone that everyone else loves it and we should too.

You think I'm the only one because I just so happen to be the loudest.  That doesn't mean other
hyped fans don't exist.   You only believe what you can see?

I agree on the loudest part. So where do you get all your info from? What makes you so convinced you know what all the fans want? I’m sure they are other over hyped fans, but they aren’t here trying to oversell this game, just you.

As for LoS, and Rebirth, it's different tastes what fans prefer as their ideal Castlevania.
Harmony of Despair so happens to fit closer to my preferences for a Castlevania game than those
other two.

This is the problem- you rather promote a been there done that looking Castlevania, a filler title that may just provide some good fun at first but then forgotten later, another example of IGA wasting his talents when he could be working on something epic like the 1999 game COMPARED to Lords of Shadows which could breathe new life back into the series. I consider myself a true fan, since I rented the original Castlevania on NES back in 87’- and I am always up for new ideas and direction the series will take us. Being stagnate in one genre will make the series die eventually. We can still have our 2D fun, but if the series doesn’t try new things and try to appeal to new gamers it will never get the respect it deserves. And when you reply, please don’t go on about how the fans want it- let’s wait for it to be released and then we will see what the fans think. I’m not judging this game and I do think it looks fun but you over hyping it like this and acting like everyone’s opinion on the matter is incorrect is just as bad as a hater coming in trashing the game for no reason and jumping on everyone for defending it.

I actually thought her first post was pure sarcasm—or a complete wind up . . . but . . .

Harmony of Despair truly is shaping up to be the GREATEST GAME EVER CREATED!!!!!   ^_^

We've talked about hype levels . . . you could be in for a bit of a fall there.

Might give it a spin if it ever makes it to Wiiware.
I still think the graphics for the menus are sub-par.

Don't talk as if I'm the only one "picking apart" replies, people are doing it to my posts (and still doing it),
just to ridicule me.   And I am not hijacking the thread, I am simply stating my opinions and replying to people's replies, and that's it.     And you totally ignored my reasoning, so go ahead, continue acting like there's nothing wrong with your views and overlooking the true value of this game just because it doesn't fit your preferences.

The only thing that's annoying is people thinking I'm a problem, when I have been at least on topic with the game and supporting it (just like any of you would support/defend whatever you feel will be your favorite Castlevania to you or whatever you are currently anticipating at the moment.)

And no this is not aggressive salemanship.   What nonsense to think that.

Your comment is ridiculous, you don't even bother explaining WHY you think it's ridiculous.
Sounds like you just like taking a stab since everyone's picking on me.  -_-;

i'm going to skip over any posts about affinity or any responses affinity has for any criticism of her now and will not say anything more on the subject.  its not enjoyable to read.

back to the game, someone suggested it would be a good fit for Wii Virtual Console.  maybe, but one of the whole points of the game was to explore what Castlevania would look like with HD resolution.  the full zoom out mode would suffer.  but if that's just fine, then it would work.  not sure how much processing power keeping all those sprites working on the same map takes, would that ability suffer on the Wii?

another thing, i wonder if the game will really have no story.  the version that was demonstrated in an interview gave each character a backstory (just a description of what they did in their previous game), but the one shown on the E3 floor didn't have this text.  maybe the main version has a little more story than the demo.  of course, lack of story might be a blessing, but i'd prefer it anyways.

one thing i noticed in Alucard's backstory was that it said "The dhampir son of Dracula who once fought and defeated his father so that his mother's soul might find peace. "  We've never heard this reason before.  We know he did it because that's what his mother would have wanted (despite loving him for all eternity) and that he made a promise to her, but not so her soul would find peace.  Are they being literal or figurative?

While I'm at it, here are the backgrounds for each character:
Soma:  The reincarnation of Dracula. He is mortal, but possesses an amazing talent: the power of dominance over monsters' souls. By collecting the Souls released by slain adversaries, Soma can harness those creatures' power. A natural warrior, he is also skilled with all types of weaponry.

Alucard:  The dhampir son of Dracula who once fought and defeated his father so that his mother's soul might find peace. Alucard can wield a variety of Dark Magic by collecting the right scrolls.

Jonathan:  A young man whose clan the Belmonts entrusted with their sacred whip, the Vampire Killer.  While he comes across as less than serious, he never backs away from his responsibilities:  he chose to fight Dracula even with his knowledge that the whip would steal part of his life to make up for his lack of experience.  Jonathan can learn a variety of Martial Arts by collecting the right scrolls.

Shanoa:  A sorceress in the Order of Ecclesia, an organization which pledged to fight Dracula, Shanoa fought Dracula with Magical Glyphs at her command. With power of Magnes, she can also cling to magnets. Her expressionless face belies the great power that hides within.

Charlotte:  A gifted mage hailed as a genius by some.  She infiltrated Castlevania and fought alongside Jonathan Morris as his counsel.  Charlotte has mastered a special art:  by binding monster energy to her book, she can wield it in the form of Spells.
