Bad trolling is bad.

As for "Simon chronicles" - my main problem with him is not his red hair, but rather design of his clothes and combination of red and black in his overall design. That makes him look garish and goofy. If he had normal clothes and red hair I wouldn't be against it. As it is now - I think this design is atrocious. And I mean design, not the art itself, it is beautiful as an always.

As for Simon CV1 in HD...
Well, everytime, when I think Konami (IGA?) couldn't do more damage for HD they proove me wrong and do something completely out of field. They could do it smart way and make it so when players choose level based on the CV1 / CV3, chosen characters transform into 8 bit version of themselves. That way it would allow them to avoid clashing styles in this game. But it seems IGA / Konami never were bothered with such little "details", so this decision fits right in, with his / they previous achievements in the recycling.
As for inclusion of the level and character from completely unrelated game...well...I don't even know what reasons prompt them to make such decision. Are they running out of material and there is nothing left that they could paste in the game form previous titles? Or Konami just want to throw in HD everything making it little playable dumpster of Konami titles? Who knows.
Anyway I am anxiously waiting for level based on Contra and Bill Rizer for this game. Don't let me down Konami!!

That sprite of Simon (not the NES one) looks a little too disjointed for my taste. His pose tells me that he's not putting any effort into the whipswing. It just looks like he's lightly holding onto a piece of rope or something. I think they wanted to emulate Simon's classic art pose from the original Castelvania, but it ultimately flopped. I like the use of pixels and coloration but they could've done a much better job. The only thing I could suggest would be to have his left arm sticking out more towards his back which will create the effect that he's actually attacking something rather then holding something.

It really is incredible that the official site released Chapter 10 and 11 sooner than expected!  ;D

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.... huh. It is not often that I say this, being a MASSIVE castlevania fan but I am.... actually very angry at seeing chapter 8, and the two new 8 bit chapters they are making (I have not seen 9 yet). I just watched a video on youtube for chapter 8, and not only is most of that level straight up copy and paste (hell I can make stuff that bland easily with my map editor), but their legion is a JOKE! The one I Implemented into my hack is WAAAAAAY better than that one, and I am an amateur with very limited programming skill! There is just no excuse for them doing such a shitty and lazy job.

As for the 8-bit stage.......... that is just disgusting. If it were in a fan game I would call it ridiculous... but this is a game made by a multi-million dollar company. If they wanted to put in those stages they should have remade them to have current, NEWER GFX! This is just.... a joke. Whoever is responsible for these choices should be shot. Seriously.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Yeah, I don't like these 8-bit stages either because they make the game look like a fanhack. Sumac's idea was very good, though it would be hard to make 8-bit sprites of Shanoa and the like. They should have added a whole bunch of the playable characters from CV1 - CVIII and only allowed them to be playable in these chapters. Now that would make for interesting DLC.

8-bit stages can be interesting, but I feel them kinda off the overall atmosphere of the game. I hope they'll plan to add more DS/PS stages after the "classic" ones.

If they're going to do 8-bit stages then they should make the characters 8-bit as well. That's they only way they'll get away with it.

I hope they'll finally manage to release Hammer and return to more DS-like stages after the Getsu-Fuma thing.

get away with it?  Many fans already find it totally acceptable without needing to change the others into 8-bit.  ;D

And it isn't the first time games have combined more graphically advanced characters with lower detailed enviornments.  Here is one example:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Unlocking Mr. Game and Watch

Artistically, Chapter 10 and 11 look fine with the non-8bit characters as they are now.   Many will appreciate the unique retro feel combined with the later sprite qualities, and vice versa using the 8-bit characters in the more detailed Chapters.  More fun for everyone!  ^.^
