dudes spending 2+ years to make a CV game ain't gonna mean it's gonna be better than PoR, for example.

heck original SOTN took longer to make than PoR and PoR has better extras, innovative gameplay style, and other goodies.

If they cranked out 2 or 3 games every year they would get boring and repetitive plus it would do a number on your wallet.

It's nice to have that anticipation for a new game. Yeah, one comes out almost every year and thats fine, but anymore than that and it might get old. Unless of course, its for 2 different systems with completely different styles ( Dawn of Sorrows and Curse of Darkness for example).
What a horrible night to have a curse!

No way! PoR's gameplay style isn't innovative, the extra characters are useless, etc. etc. SotN was and still is unmatched quality-wise.

I haven't even played Symphony and I know that! PoR was pretty bad, as far as extras go.

To me, if it keeps me entertained and immerses me within the game, then I consider it a success. PoR provided me some amusement, but SotN had the atmosphere and superior timeless gameplay that makes me come back to it no matter how many times I've fully completed it in the past.

While I like CoD and the DS CV's, SotN has a charm all in its own. But rehashing what made it a success has dogged the series since.

I'd be willing to wait three or four years for a great, innovative Castlevania than two months for some cheesy cartoon crap fighting the same RoB sprites I've been fighting since '97.

Copy pasted dumbed down crappily coded extra modes, gameplay copied from dawn of sorrow with more bugs added, other goodies = dark portraits, ugly new sprites, worst dracula in a while etc. Sure, it is better than sotn by far.

Wait, no it's not.

Because they have one fuckin elf carving the games out of stone, thats why!  >:(

Nowadays you are either a graphics whore or a fanboy. BR is Shank not CV. It is ridiculous to think that it is better than CV. If it was CV then it would be what RE4 is to Resi, a series killer. Dumb it down and make it look pretty. Enough idiots will buy it.

are you 7 years old?
you have said some of the dumbest shit i ever heard. ::)
PoR isn't half the game SOTN was >:(
but hay if you like it better thats fine but don't think your daydream is something everybody is in.
plus even with these game like DoS and PoR that take most sprites from SOTN and Rondeo.
it still alot of work to make games even with them rehashing stuff they still have to make some stuff.lol
so your lucky we get a game every year.

i wish they would take a few years to make another cool castlevania like SOTN.
maybe SOTN 2 ;D
i know just dreaming.lol
well i'm sure we'll see it one day but will it be half as good as the 1st i don't think so :'(
because we have ppl like him screaming for a half ass made game just as long as it comes out fast as it can.lol

Just cause I'm bored I've compiled a list of Castlevania games and monsters since Rondo that share graphics.  Games past Rondo began reusing monsters and the percentage THEORETICALLY seems to have taken a considerable jump with the newer games.  However, is that really the case?  Let's investigate.

Rondo, number of enemies ?, 98% original (the Toad was at least ported and edited from an earlier Castlevania game, I'm almost positive there are others).

SotN, number of enemies, ~146, 70% original (old Rondo sprites mixed well with new sprites sharing same style).  42 reused sprites.

DoS, number of enemies, ~116, 70% original (old Rondo/SotN sprites ... questionably mixed with some pretty eye-sore new sprites).  35 reused sprites.

PoR, number of enemies, ~155, was difficult to keep track honestly, around 35% are original, and I actually kinda stopped counting at or around entry 140 with at least 100 reused sprites.

So, DoS isn't so bad.  Is like SotN in that for all the reused stuff, there's plenty of new.  PoR is a steep drop in original monsters, at least.  On the bright side, at least they're not reusing background graphics.  It could always be worse.

SotN is not better than porn.
But it is better than PoR.

It is. Por reuses a lot of dos's pinnacle background graphics for the master's keep.

Honestly, there was nothing about PoR that I could enjoy as a Castlevania game.
