But I do wish that the sound tracks were of greater quality rather then sounding like they came straight out of the arcade machine.

Not me. That's what makes 'em so great. I love old school chiptunes, and these are very reminiscent. The sound is like arcade meets Genesis meets X68000.

Personally I'd rather have it as Arcade meets SNES meets X68000.  ;D

That would just sound wonky, though. The arcade (general arcade, I suppose—I have no idea about specific sound modules), Genesis, and X68000 all sound very similar in that kind of lo-tek but punchy way. The SNES is way too smooth to be paired up with any of the others.

Yeah, it's definitely an either or situation there.
The SNES is just too different what with it's comparatively high quality samples.

Just listened to the bonus tracks. Amazing. Couldn't Battle of the Holy have been included in Hard Mode's stage 1 or something? (ala Contra 4's song variation depending on challenge level). Anyway, Lost Painting was one of my favorite SotN songs, so it's interesting to see that get chosen for a Classicvania. This only says to me that we need ReBirth 2 with Battle of the Holy. It's Belmont-strut approved.

Basically, they all used variations of what is called (Yamaha) FM synthesis. It's a very recognizable sound (old style soundblaster cards and toy keyboards of the 80s also used it). All thanks to the now mythic DX7

Ah, Sound Blaster... Brings me back to playing Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM on my cousin's PCs. Certain he had Sound Blaster cards—I distinctly remember the games having that old school sound when I played them at his place. Makes me wish I wasn't 6–8 years old at those times but older.

I watched my friend play through Wolfinstein 3D back in the day and it was all hooked up to the stereo sound blaster system too! Talk about loud fun!

It's pretty interesting to hear a "lo-fi" version of Lost Painting. Could have gone with stage 4 i guess....even though i like this rendition, it's   pacing would make if feel out of place.

MM Battle Network Sig Project. And on the third day, Dr. Light said, "Let there be Roll."

I find the inclusion of "Lost Painting" really bizarre. It's a very pretty song that the lower quality sound doesn't really serve well. However, it is one of my favorite Castlevania songs, so it's interesting at least to hear a different version.

Not to be a dick and I haven't listened to that Battle of Holy from the rar but it sounds like everyone was talking about this fanmade song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn0hXgRI9PA&playnext_from=TL&videos=AS5TI847F4c from a guy who takes other Castlevania songs and remixes them in style of other concoles. Maybe whoever compiled the rar added it as an extra himself?
What!? All that meat, and NO potatoes?!

Nope, it's a song on the CD (entitled "Dracula Densetsu ReBirth Another Medley"), and it sounds loads better than the fan-made version of "Battle of the Holy" you linked to.
