I'd hate to have the ability to jump in a Zelda game. ;) There's just no need for it.

For me, TP was dark enough. It's a game that I think has a great deal of mood and atmosphere. You make a Zelda game any more visually dark and it just ceases to be Zelda. I'm fine with Nintendo wanting to change things a bit; I wouldn't expect more of the same as TP or further steps in that direction.

Hey, sorry, I didn't edit my post fast enough. Please see the images I posted BELOW to describe my feelings of how Skyward Sword betrayed expectations from its promo art last year, and also what some Zelda images looked like during II, etc...

ALSO, I said Twilight Princess was dark enough...slightly too dark in its drabness, but very close to the images noted above.

And *Jumping* worked great in almost all the portable Zelda games and NES Zelda II. The console games are feeling kind of stiff and preset/on-rails at times without the ability. It would add a new dimension and freshen up the 3D space further.

EDIT: For convenience here are those images and their context again...
*They showed us this great image of what to expect a year ago, but the Wii game does not match it thus far: http://www.raurusreturn.net/images/zelda-wii.jpg

*To illustrate my point of style: As far back as Zelda II, there were these art pieces informing my mind of what Zelda ultimately looked like in 3D...

It's a mix of Twilight's detail with Wind Waker's coloring.

This is the very same thing I was thinking when I saw it.

I'm glad Nintendo had a strong showing this year. As much as I'm tiring of their numerous iterations of handhelds (I was actually considering upgrading from a phat to a DSi XL until I heard the first rumors of a 3DS), the 3DS may very well be a day-one purchase for me. It'll be tough to resist the urge to buy. Possibly even more amazing than the 3DS itself is the number of publishers who are developing games for this thing. Never dreamed of seeing an RE or an MGS on a Nintendo handheld.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I agree... while I like my castlevanias dark and gothic, I like my Zelda's adventurous with a bright future.
