Problem with the Twilight vampires is that the amateur writer has only given them one weakness: fire, and they have super speed, so they could easily put themselves out.
Fire Whip + Stopwatch. Eat that, bizzatch.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

She's admitted that she doesn't kill her characters (at least not her self insert or her other favourites) because it would make her cry.

And I thought I couldn't dislike her any more. It is the mark of a failed-author when s/he cannot kill his or her characters. That doesn't mean every book has to end in a John Steinbeck manner, but rather making a Scooby gang is a sure-fire to ensure you have stale characters.

When I wrote my first book, I made DAMN sure none of my vampiric villains had any of that pussified, sparking bull-shit. They're tall, strong, fast, and consummate warriors. Hell the female villain is a sexual predator who targets teen-aged boys, absolutely just destroys women (read: what she sees as her competition) and takes sadistic glee in murder and torture.

Well, Cornell could take out Eddy. I mean, Cornell's no ordinary werewolf. He defeated Death and Dracula. He could even stand up to Aion. So yeah. He's hope for humanity.

Or Maria could just sleep with and pacify them all. Vampires seem to like girls who lack any facial expressions.

Um, actually Death/Grim Reaper is kind of a public domain character. Now, if he were to actually fight like our Death (i.e. spamming mini-sickles), then it'd be a legit reference.
...Yeah, I never watched the show, so could you find a video of how he fights, if he does indeed fight like our Death?

In Contra Hardcorps on the Sega Genesis, there'a a goofy ending you can unlock. After choosing to go back to rescue the scientists, you will come to a red wall pillar that has to be destroyed to advance. Instead of shooting it, climb up. You'll be thrust into an arena battle. Your first opponent is a robot who shoots a morning-star at you--while having to hold still--and throws a boomerang fish (why a fish I dunno). The music is a remix of I believe is Castlevania's stage 1, but I could be wrong. Since Konami made Contra Hardcorps it wouldn't surpise me.

This.

Additionally, a Japanese fan named Kei sent me the following information on the robot in Contra: Hard Corps: "In Japan there is an afro-haired singer called "Simon Masato." He is famous for his song named "Oyoge Taiyaki-kun" (taiyaki is a fish-shaped Japanese cake which is used as weapon in this game). As you see, this character consists of Simon (vampire hunter) and Simon (Japanese singer). Since the Castlevania series are games which were originated in Japan, it sometimes contains jokes like this." Cool! Thanks Kei!

well FUCK. I KNEW I had read that info somewhere before, and as it turns out on this site itself. Well, may as well edit out my inclusion, since it's redundant.

The other arena fighters look like characters from some other games or have music that sounds familiar...

And that ending is just... wrong on so many levels.
