- Enemy Designs
- Quick Time Events
- Music
- Camera
- Platforming Segments

as for story, it's fine except I didn't like how they blended Leon with Mathias to form Gabriel, and the whole Zobek betrayal was way too predictable.

I had no problem with the platforming, I thought they did a really good job with that.

Also, am I the only one who likes quicktime events? They switch up the combat so its not doing the same hack and slash, button mashing combos over and over again. It keeps you on your toes
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I think that means the combat itself is flawed if it seems like button mashing.

It was a decent game.

The only things I would change would be the ability to freely move the camera (so much great scenery used and it's such a shame to not be able to freely view the in game world)

While the music was atmospheric and fit with the tone of the game, however I would have liked the inclusion of more Gothic Symphony or even some Organ pieces. Max Regor inspired or even Johann Bach comes to mine.

While the environments were nice however would like to see the game be more like what is shown during Chapter 4 and onwards with the more night time style stages. I would have liked the Forest / Bog more if it was moonlit and night time rather then an autumn dusk.

I have no problems with normal enemy. I also don't mind Epic boss fights however I did not care for the first two Titan Battles, The giant undead dragon thing was awesome but if I'd rather fight a giant demon akin to Castlevania 3 Dracula 3rd form, rather then a giant animated statue.

Gamer score:  89%. it's "almost" there in the olympus but some (understandable) lack of polish in some areas still keep it away from being a AAA. great value and an ambitious project with high production values, fun gameplay and breathtaking graphics. Hope more money makes wonder in the sequel.

CastlevaniaFan Score: 95% I'ts my dream came true. A serious story, an epic journey, lots of impressive  boss battles, haunting atmosphere and the most amazing castle ever seen in the saga makes it too perfect for me. Also the mix of my favourite genres (I like RPG but not too much so I really liked the simple RPG mechanichs in this one) makes it too appealing, and of course the whole Cv lore of enemies, situations and hell even the name itself itds impressive (Lords of Shadow, I like the name, it's a very sign of "Origin Story"). I enjoyed every minute from it and I can't wait for the even better sequel.

Besides the usual Skeletons and stuff, what CV enemies were in the game? All of the enemy designs they used were generic crap. Those vampires were nothings like we have seen before, and if they didn't say they were vampires I don't think any of us would ever have guessed...

It was a decent game. It was a let down, but I have faith they can do better, but they need to start being original and approach the sequel as if its a Castlevania game this time, and not another generic fantasy hack n slash. Seeing that the sequel from the beginning is being planned as a CV this time, maybe it will feel like it truly belongs in the series.

Um, they try to suck your blood and get scorched by the daylight. They also look reminiscent of bats (hell, Brauner even transforms into group of them occasionally).

I thought they were gargoyles at first. Other than the fact they try to suck your blood, and that they burn in daylight, they do not look like vampires. Vampires can turn into bats, but they have never actually looked like bats in their natural form.

So they decided to make them look like bats.  I can't understand why that's a problem it's their vision of the game?

One of brauner's moves is to turn into bats, after all..

but they have never actually looked like bats in their natural form.

To be fair, the game explains this. Recently-turned vampires are beastlike, while ancient and powerful vampires (Carmilla, Laura, etc) are capable of taking relatively more aristocratic forms.

Olrox and Brauner are beastlike regardless since they're essentially vampirized demons.

There are quite a few things to fix... so second one for me. They never wrapped up Laura's part in the story. She just appears to annoy you then disappear after kicking your ass.

I'm kinda sad how really goddamn awesome characters are introduced and then immediately killed (Baba Yaga, Necromancer, Laura, etc.)

Back on topic, I'd vote sorta between "Good, but let's fix--" and the "someone else, plz" option. There were some pretty good ideas in here, and I really really hope that Mercurysteam and Cox are willing to listen to constructive criticism because there are parts in LoS that make a sequel seem destined for greatness. I just pray it doesn't pull a Curse of Darkness and just amplify everything wrong with the first game.

On the other hand, I'd love IGA if he were to make a 3DS Castlevania.

screw the 3ds. I want a fully fledge console game from Iga... after LoS I sort of really want an extremely exceptional looking 2d castlevania.

Things to consider addressing in the next game:

- Fix the framerate issue. I'll take slightly less impressive graphics over a more smooth gameplay experience any day of the week.
- Open up the castle to a more free-roaming exploration and don't limit each level to merely a few rooms.
- Consider giving the enemies and bosses more varied AoE attacks, otherwise this game might as well be called "Lords of Shockwave".
- Consider giving the next protagonist the ability to juggle larger enemies in the game and not just the small "pop-corn" ones.
- Add more replay value. The lack of *any* unlockable modes aside from Paladin was a huge dissapointment. Boss Rush, Arena, Unlockable Character and unlockable costumes are all things that won't take up too much dev time but would increase the replay value big time.
