Monster heroes: yes
Monsters killing dracula: HELL NO!!
Everyone and his mother have killed poor man, want Cv side stories? fine, but keep dracula for belmonts only and occasionaly alucard (very occasionaly). IDk who said every Cv game should have Dracula as it's final boss, every iteration with killing that man makes him a lamer villain.

You and me both!! Eversince CV first started, it was the Belmonts Vs Dracula and they were the only ones who could bring him down. Bottom line, Golden rule. I'm all for a monster hero story as well, so long as they don't go up against Dracula because: 1. monsters don't have the Belmont's mystic blood and 2. They don't have the Vampirekiller whip. If any hero lacks any of the above, then it's game over for them and a victory pose for the prince of darkness. Alucard was an acception cause he's the son of Dracula so it was okay. But IGA made a big F**k-up when he brought in Hector and allowed him to fight Dracula--* WTF IGA!?! In terms of LoD, Cornell should not have been able to fight off Dracula either since he's nothing more then a werewolf (man beast) and even his esetic training would not have given him nearly enough power to topple the tyrant. As for OoE, Shanoa should not have gone up against Dracula as well. Instead the final boss should've been her power hungry mentor.

I think it made SOME sense that Shanoa was able to defeat Dracula, because apparently before using Dominus, Dracula did not feel phased at all and it was only until she used Dracula's own power against him that she was able to succeed.

And that would be true since it is his power and Alucard would have that same power as well which was why he was able to kill Dracula. But I personally think this is one of IGA's many attempts to write out the Belmonts and have other people fight Dracula. Not a good move on his part. In the words of the Lady of the Lake: It's also very Stupid!

I have to agree with this 100%. Imo Belmonts should be the only one who can deal with the Count. I don't mind other people fighting him but when the option comes to where he can die by ANYTHING then it becomes a problem. It's one thing to fight him with a whip called "Vampire Killer" hence the name VAMPIRE KILLER. It's also another thing to fight him using holy weapons(although I don't see the knifes and axes being holy unless dipped in holy water or something). However, next thing I know everyone can kill Dracula! Not just with swords or what not but by lame things like pies and paper airplanes!!!

For the original question. No more monster heroes please. Just give me a good human Belmont with a whip and sub weapons. If you do that then color me happy.

I say yes and no.  We need more non-human heros, but only the Belmonts and Alucard should be able to kill Dracula.  The reasons are the the Belmonts have the Vampire Killer which is designed to kill all vampires and Alucard is Dracula's son; so he should have enough power to win.
That being said, there could be side stories with non-humans as the main character.  They would just have to relate to the main storyline.

Two more things:
(1) Hector is human.  He just gained demonic powers from studying the art of devilforging in the castle.
(2) I would love to see a game staring Sypha before the events of CV3 ending with a battle against the cyclops (at the end of the battle there would be a cutscene in which she is petrified by the cyclops).
Behold my power and tremble

Entertained minds think alike. I, too want to see such a game come out.  :)

I'd really prefer a full fledged Belmont story.

It's been a loooong time since the last.

I always thought Hector was using sort of Draculas dark Powers since he used to learn under him?

Combine that with the fact that he is creating weapons using this magic... well.... doesn´t make him a similiar to Shanoa (the whole using Draculas Powers against him etc.)?

@Topic

Well.... sure, why not? It was always interesting to play as someone with special abilities a member of the Belmonts would lack of.
But people can’t be ruled by power alone! The sacred, the honorable, the loved…those things can rule humanity. Something evil will eventually FALL TO RUIN!!

In Legacy of Darkness, Cornell does not go up against a 'real' Dracula.  Dracula puts up an elaborate ruse of a fight and in the end, it's all a ploy to steal his werewolf power so that he can be reborn immediately as Malus.  He even laughs and mocks Cornell at the end of the fight.

Only Reinhardt and Carrie actually fight the real Dracula, eight years later.  Henry doesn't.

I like how Harmony of Dissonance was described as "What Belmonts do when they aren't fighting Dracula."
Apparently, they're just off fighting puppet Draculas.

When heroes like Shanoa fight against Dracula he is always a wimp because either he lacks his full power or something went wrong with the ressurection. So technically are still the only ones who can bring him down. The only exception to that rule would be Quincy Morris but he had a bowie knife.

Technically he is of Belmont descent.
Shall we have a 'blood is thicker than last name' argument now?

I don't really get why the Morrises can't use the whip naturally like the Belmonts because surnames are really just names. And unless they interbreed, the Belmont bloodline has been diluting like any other. I guess, there needs to be a certain level of Belmont blood with every generation that's ever so decreasing, and the Morrises have more diluted Belmont blood, so they have weaker Warlord Chromosomes.

He is a very distant relative so I don't find it odd if some people don't categorize him as a Belmont.
