Dracula's Curse was VRC6. VRC7 was for Larange Point (and Tiny Toons, but only Larange used the channel).

And I kinda doubt Konami would have let Capcom use their chip, as much as Capcom would have loved to, I'm sure. The VRC7 sounds more like a Genesis than a Famicom, to me. The US NES was supposedly unable to use added sound channels, so any Virtual Console game that has more than 2 squares, a triangle, a noise and a DPCM playing at the same time is strictly Japan-only (maybe Europe too, not sure).

Japan had all the cool stuff. :(

This song is from Legend of Kage 2. It could've easily been a level theme in Order of Ecclesia or Portrait of Ruin. I'm surprised Michiru Yamane didn't compose it.

Nox Arcana has a new Album out, "The Dark Tower", and in true Nox Arcana style, is TOTALLY Castlevania worthy.

Heres a few tracks.

The Dark Tower - Nox Arcana

Nox Arcana - Born of the Night (New album - The Dark Tower)

Nox Arcana - Darkness Rising

Nox Arcana - Nightwatcher

Man, I would give all of my money for Nox Arcana to visially and Artistically direct a Castlevania game even harder than for Mana to.

I mean shit, they've already have their "Transylvania" album which shows just how kickass they render Dracula and his mythos musically and Artistically.

Nobuo Uematsu did this one for FFXIV. The beginning reminds me of approaching Dracula's keep, for some reason, and the after the song picks up, it reminds a haunted ballroom that could be in Dracula's Castle.

Final Fantasy XIV OST ~ Track 7

This one also reminds me of CV for some reason:

So I've been listening to some Chaos Legion soundtrack, and this one stood out as being the most CV-esque to me:
Chaos Legion - monks (Stage ~Forest~)
Doubly so for the Legion Mode segment, even if it's pretty short. Maybe if the music were to shift whenever you're in critical health? It does give that sense of urgency somewhat for some reason.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Sorry for resurrecting the thread mods, BUT THIS IS TOO AWESOME NOT TO BE HEARD

I was listening to random Blind Guardian music when I found this:

Blind Guardian - Weird Dreams (Instrument only)

If this isn't CV music then I don't know what is.

Maybe for a Clocktower theme? Other than that, it is actually a bit too fast paced.

Castlevania Dungeon, I think you will be able to appreciate this.

What's a Castelvania forum without a thread that gets resurrected every 100 years?

Like most modern music, you'd have to mix and match different songs from these guys to make a CV song, perhaps with the exception of Uber Den Horizont although it might be a bit short. They fall somewhere in between KKC and Yamane's music. Most of their songs aren't suitable for a CV game, but I've always thought industrial or darkwave can make good CV music.

Blutengel - Über den Horizont
Blutengel- Reich mir die Hand

Dunno about you guys, but I think Magaki's theme from KoF XI would fit pretty well in a CV game.
The King of Fighters XI - An Improvised Concierto "Magaki's Theme" (Arranged)
Oh, and the limit before this counts as thread necromancy is 4 months, right? I think it's only been 2 months or so after the last post, so this should be legitimate. Great threads like this shouldn't be allowed to die anyway.

I think it's perfectly fine to resurrect a thread like this every once in a while cause the topic is sort of time-less, and we all love music that sounds Castlevania-ish. This way we have an entire archive of Castlevaniaesque music instead of having to start a new thread each time we find a new cool song.

(also, it's my thread so I approve of resurrection  ;D )

Here's a song from Lunar Knights, which could've been in a Kid Dracula game or something. :D
