A hi-res 2D fighter would be fun, I think it'll be interesting to adapt the "slash" & "bust" style characters like in the Samurai Shodown series. I like it's relevance the whole good/evil aspect in CV.

Say for example:

"Slash/Light"
Simon - Strong physical fighter, but tends to be on the slow side and has weak to so-so long range attacks to help him cover distance.

"Bust/Dark"
Simon Wraith (not the HoD one lol) -Strength has been toned down, has little to no long range attacks but is a agile combo beast.

Looks like the board is not allowing me to post links, well... just check the gameplay description of Samurai Shodown III in wikipedia. For a better explanation of bust and slash.

Castlevania Judgement 2 suggestions,
  • first, Ditch the Death Note Art guy, its obvious he's never played any of the games since the characters look almost nothing like their original incarnations
  • Add Charolette, Jonathan, Hector, Shaft, Richter, Soma, Julius, Henry, and Joachim
  • Overhaul some existing characters like Maria for example
  • Change how the game controls, holding A to do some some moves while A does nothing by itself is kinda dumb
  • Wii U Release, since that Console blows this Gen consoles out the water.
  • Actually See Galamoth from the future and Redesign Time Reaper, a recolored CoD Death was Lazy
  • Lastly, a small Stage Base Story mode, Play a stage, fight, Repeat, kinda freshens up the game between fights.

Ditch the first game's artstyle and the ridiculous time travel nonsense.  Matter of fact, retcon the first game entirely...don't even call this one Judgement 2.

I say a better story set up would be to have Dracula or Chaos or Death...or all of the above...somehow anchor the souls of all heroes that ventured into Castlevania to the keep itself (perhaps a persistent curse???).  Then have the game take place in the dark alternate realm where Castlevania exists between games (after our heroes have moved on from this world).  Have Dracula pit all of his former opponents against each other with the prize for victory being an open door out of his eternal purgatory....back to heaven.  Of course, some of Dracula's henchmen could also be in attendance...for added challenge (or for their own reasons).

The first game's roster is solid for the most part, they just need to pretty much all be redesigned (and give Eric his manhood back for gods sake).  In addition:

*Richter Belmont
*Shaft
*Olrox
*Medusa
*Isaac (I welcome any opportunity to beat that guy down again)
*Skeleton Knight
*Minotaur
*Frankenstein's Monster
*Sonia Belmont

Now that I'm thinking about it, how about offering a glorified Boss Rush mode featuring fights with some of the series' best boss characters?  Maybe offer equipment unlockables as prizes for achieving certain feats during the game (or let us purchase them via an ingame merchant using gold earned during fights or challenges).  A full fledged character customization tool would be sweet too.

Oh, and I forgot one last thing.......DON'T let anyone that made the first game work on it.  It's no problem to take some of those elements in the original that worked into the sequel/reboot, but after spending numerious hours trying to enjoy Judgement I came to the conclusion that the team responsible for it just didn't have a very solid grasp of how to execute their vision for it.

What kinda baffles me is why characters like Golem made it into the game in the first place, when that slot could be used for... I dunno, SOMA maybe? Golem, yeah, he's the brute character, but this would have been more well delivered if he didn't budge from every single attack like everyone else. Made this differed size and speed just a downside to the character.

I'd say if they did Judgment 2, to change Golem up like so. Make him not budge when hit with weaker attacks.

Maybe change the characters up to fit their original game counterparts?
Maria - Like everyone said. Not a boob-obsessed little girl.
Cornell - Not an emo guy. Totally threw off how cool he looked and how he fought.
Grant - Why was a love triangle added with the trio? I say get rid of that.
Trevor - Make him more like his CoD counterpart. A badass. Not this guy who jumps to conclusions every so often.

Well. That's all I got.

*coughDraculacough*

Seriously, Drac wouldn't stop spamming the floor rune thingy where he says "Darkness, heed me!" and I'd keep stepping into it. When I'd manage to get past that, he'd spam his teleport or spam his almighty pimp-slap.

not to mention Shanoa, where all her hits seem the land before you

the game is fun with pvp, but PvAI is Bull, IF they make another one they could work on the mechanics, its a very good basis for a castlevania fighter

They should take the engine and make a CV adventure instead of a shitty fighting game.

In Judgment's defense, the game was good. All the shit that was done to it though turning it into more of a generic anime fighter rather than Castlevania, that's what was bad. I personally love the game, but like I said, it feels more like an anime fighter than a CV game.

To be honest I didn't like it much as a fighting game. It didn't have the nuance to the controls that even Smash Bros. has. For me it was a fail as a fighting game. The most fun I had really was those parts where the regular enemies would appear in waves and I'd stick to basic moves for a more Final Fight-ish beat down. So I think they should go that route instead. Would be nice if Konami had at least one real CV game in 3D on the Wii too.
