I'd like to see you travel through the Carpathians with simple leather armor and no sleeves.

You know it's a game, right?  Action Video Game Heroes don't catch cold, get hypothermia, athlete's foot, or muscle atrophy.  They also don't suffer from broken bones when falling from great heights. I think a little Conan-ish armor is the least of his worries.

Great arts.
But the last two...well at least the last picture is a BIT of improvement over his "Kojima design". But only a bit. The first picture in this thread is superrior and I wholeheartedly agree - this is Simon Belmont, not some leather clad redhead, IMHO.

I think ayami Kojima can illustrate Simon more classically "barbarian" alpha. I think this piece illustrated by her would have suited Simon perfectly if he wore the whip and fur clothing

awesome for A Belmont maybe, but definitely not Simon. It's too modern looking. Simon is from the 1600's remember that.

I do...

if you are going to go for certain eras, ( and I mean, NAMING them, ) then you want to try and keep close to how people dress in that time.

I don't think he would look modern if he was wearing the barbarian outfit instead.

These redesigns are all amazing. I do prefer the first picture in this thread though. It pretty much sums up the image of toughness and endurance expected from the finest line of vampire hunters. Definitely better than the red-haired Kojima designs.

I think there most definitely is a Conan influence in Simon's design. This is Ahnold's portrayal...There are definitely some remarkable similarities, and the NECA figure is especially similar...especially the headband. (No, the NECA figures are not perfect by any means, but the figure really does resemble Conan, probably a bit more than the in-game version...?)

What do you think of Kojima's concept art from Chronicles? I think it looks a little better than the red-haired version, but something about it just strikes me as un-Simon.

Probably the fact that it still looks way too tranny/s&m. And wearing half a coat is ridiculous.
