Well, just beat it. Simply an astounding game!! I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10. Once you learn and yet comfortable with all the moves, the game becomes absolutely badass! Game was all kinds of difficult in platforming too...
...which is why I haven't gotten all the Red Skulls yet. If you need pointers, here's a hint. YES, they actually do mean for you to hop up on those little flies, going from fly to fly, with almost perfect aim. Enjoy. Some of them are just plain evil, and a few I haven't figured out yet what to do. Mini puzzles they be.
When you need that extra height, the upwards mid-air slash is your best friend.
Those frog things a freakin annoying! Hate them with a passion.
Oh, and good luck getting all the Achievements/Trophies. WayForward really wanted to punish us.
Anyhoo, if anyone needs help, just let me know. The path is fairly strait forward, so you're not gonna get lost. As I said before, BloodRayne plays like a stage by stage Castlevania, but with the combat of AstroBoy and the Dishwasher, with possibly a little of the xbox Ninja Gaiden thrown in for good measure.
I'm hoping it sells well, and either Konami invites WF to make a 2D Cv, or WF just makes a sequel to this. Honestly, after playing through the entire game, I could go either way. I honestly don't care that it's not a Cv game anymore, and just love it for what it is. Would be really cool though, that since this game progressed more like Cv1, that for the next one they went in more of a Cv3 direction, giving you multiple paths, and possibly a second character to play as...
*BIG SPOILER BELOW*
...speaking of second character, cool how she can turn into a raven. If you think about it, she's basically a female Alucard. Half vampire, nimble and agile, and able to turn into a small flying animal.
Anyhoo, go get this! You're hardcore gamer status will be immediately revoked if you fail to do so.
Oh, and one last thing...
You're gonna love the last boss.
