BloodRayne: Betrayal - Trailer 2

If Konami made a new 2D Castlevania, this game gives a hint where the combat could be going. If they combined combos + OoE system, I think it could turn to be amazing.

Badass. I'll probably end up getting this whenever it comes out. Animations of the enemies really does remind me of A Boy and His Blob on the Wii.

IGN says 9.0 and talks a lot about Castlevania in this review. They even go as far as saying this:

"One word came to mind pretty much every second I played it -- "Castlevania" -- because BloodRayne: Betrayal reeks of an old-school entry in the series. In fact, with developer WayForward's relationship with Konami already established with its Contra offering, something deep within me says that BloodRayne: Betrayal was most certainly meant to be a Castlevania game, one that never got approved."

I somehow feel that Bloodrayne Betrayal is proof that WayForward won't ever make a Castlevania game. They poured their 2D vampire heart into this one instead. Maybe because Konami just wouldn't let them have a go at the real stuff.

But who knows? They've established a relation with Konami, so it could happen someday. But I kinda don't think so anymore, not after seeing Bloodrayne. Unless Bloodrayne is a "hey konami! Look at our Castlevaniaesque game! Do you want one too?" kind of thing.

I have to agree wholeheartedly here. They delivered what we wanted for years, with an unrelated franchise. Why the HELL didn't they give them the Castlevania license?! AUGH!! So pissed right now!!

I'm going to love this game, and yet probably hate every minute of it knowing this could have been one of the greatest Castlevania games ever.

It's hilarious that - of all embarrasing, semi-dead, good-for-nothing franchises - it's effin BLOODRAYNE (!!!  :o !!!) that rises from its grave and delivers a game that is more Castlevania than Konamis' own Lords of Shadow. It's just.... I can't even... I mean; LULZ!

Except I'm angry too. But I'll play the heck out of this one fo'sho.

I'm not really sure at all on how Bloodrayne Betrayal resembles an older Castlevania considering it's a brawler, but it looks nice, I guess.

With the QTEs, kinda, but the whip combat itself kinda reminds me of a bizarre hybrid of... Ninja Gaiden and Rygar? LoS and GoW look like they do different things with combat.

For me, the environmental hazards. And the music. It looks a little more comic-book-y, though. The combat kinda reminds me of Astroy Boy on the GBA, which fucking rocks.

Maybe this bloodrayne game is just practice to them, and if they do well Konami will give them a real Castlevania game to do :D

Did you really just go there man     , meanwhile on the other side of the field it seems all good in the hood, but it seems that it might get lowballed just because it is too hard I read the gameinformer review a month ago and they gave it a seven I guess I was doing other things at the time so I forgot ,yet anyways reviewers wecome back to 2D you have to earn it a tile at a time  8)

Wow, from the looks of this game it looks great considering it's a BloodRayne title. I'll have to try this one out...
