I think the loss of respect is quite unfounded in the sense of Criswellvania. As Flame said, even though it was built through a level editor, it's still pretty damn awesome, and again, as he said, it would have taken an absurd amount of time to do it without one.

That said, I'm all for it.

Uzo, you said you have your own server, (SMP right?)

What server ware do you use?

I personally think its a GREAT idea to use that as the basic map. It's a great starting point.

As for me... I do run SMP. I would ideally use the Linux version, but my server with Linux doesn't have the horse power to run it. I am forced to run it off of my development desktop. The advantage would be it running on it's own machine as a service, so when I have to reboot I don't need to kick everyone off. Minor inconvenience at best, since I don't reboot very often.

That said, I assume you're still looking for someone to host the CVD server? I might be interested, depending.

Well I would normally have no issue hosting it myself. (I have a classic server that's broken and cant be joined even when theres a URL and its on the server list)

Only it would not be dedicated. it would be up when my lappy's up, but down when my its is closed.

I also have no idea how a server running that map would run on here. the map in single player alone gives me some pretty bad lags at times, (and forget about Nether... i still have not been able to finish the inverted castle)

hmm. lol, after typing this- i think it WOULD be better for someone else to host it.

I wuld actually suggest a mod for it or two though- specifically a weapons mod that among other things- can let you make a flail that works like the fishing rod. ( whip anyone?)

I tried it out now. Made a server with that as it's map. Runs fine, even with the other server running on mine.

Really awesome map too. Playing it normally is really cool and challenging. I haven't even made it to the castle yet, just the mansion.

I definitely wouldnt mind tryin it out with you. been meaning to try this out in multiplayer for the longest time. (even though its a single player map, it seems to work much better in multiplayer)

also... does this mean its a go then?

It doesn't have to be Criswelvania at all. I suggest building the Castlevania world from scrap.
I've played Minecraft for a long time and I'm quite handy with medieval type of buildings. I say we only need some plugins and a good Bukkit server.

I made one for Criswelvania, but I suck at hosting them XD
