So you don't use D-pads and you don't use shoulder buttons/bumpers/triggers. Just what the hell exactly are you playing anyway? Atari, or are you PC-only?

D-Pads: Don't use them anymore because I'm more into analog sticks. Most games I play have them doing the same thing anyway.

Shoulder Buttons: I don't remember the last time I pressed one, since my Xbox 360 red-ringed a while back and I got bored of my PS2 games.

...And my normal Xbox crapped out. Get that. The only thing I really play now is Wii, but generally all I do is kick back and use Netflix with that.

PC is like the only thing I use for gaming at this time.

I still can't get over the fact that it has such a stupid name. Wasn't there anything else they could have called it?

The Wii was supposed to be titled Revolution. Couldn't they use that for the Wii U? It's actually a cool name.

this can be done on just the controller alone
http://youtu.be/0PQoO31VQLI9
Vita includes headtracking too.

Um... I think Nintendo did do must of this stuff first, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

D-Pad: Nintendo Entertainment System
Shoulder Buttons: Super Nintendo Entertainment System
Analog Sticks: Nintendo 64
Motion Controls: Wii
Glasses-Free Handheld: Nintendo 3DS

I believe all those are indeed the first. I could be wrong though, since I'm not exactly savvy in that stuff.

I dunno about the other stuff Jorge mentioned...

Like I've said, only the first two are actually Nintendo inventions.
Analog sticks, Motion controls and Glass-free 3D are things that already existed and Nintendo made them better and focused in their consoles.

Factoid: Candles emit the same light as the "sensor" bar, the sensors are acually on the controller, the bar are used as reference points (PS move is reverse)
Factoid 2: When you connect your Wii controller to PC via bluetooth, the controller reads "Revolution controller"
Factoid 3: Wii's netflix layout is better than the PS3's layout
