How do you believe Konami will proceed with Castlevania?

Lords of Shadow won the day.  Traditional games will no longer be developed.
Konami will play the field by taking a multiversal approach to Castlevania.
I don't know.  My mind was recently violated by a Dark Priest...

they will keep on with LoS for a little while, maybe 2-3 more games, then either in between or after, go back to the original timeline, OR try another approach. EG let other devs take a crack at it. So we would get different vanias by different devs with different flavors and ideas.

At least thats what i could imagine them doing, but realistically, I dont think I can see them doing that... Like Cappy and megaman. they probably wouldnt do that.

they SHOULD, buuuut prolly wont.

I still think they will keep the original timeline around and occasionally release a 2D game for it, though i doubt we will see another HD. Who knows, maybe on occasion we might even get a 3D attempt.

I dont think Konamis done with the original timeline. Not by a long shot. theres still a few things that can still be done. especially in terms of merchandising and other media. (Anime/mangas, etc) The timeline may be bloated and full, but theres still room to expand into other mediums.

A Multiversal approach is neat, and its something megaman has done before. (The battle network and Star force games inhabit the same timeline in an alternate universe, so where Classic -> X series, in the AU its BN -> Star Force) so here we woould have where Lament of Inn. -> Castlevania 3, we have LoS -> whatever LoS2 is named

i think as of other M, metroid jhas it too, since other M doesnt acknowledge the prime games, making them a what if Au thing

The whole concept of a possible Castlevania multiverse is a fan invention, what Konami actually told fans was to forget everything they know about Castlevania. Dave Cox only latched onto the idea because he realised it would help decrease some of the hostility towards his game, just try asking him now if he still believes in a Castlevania multiverse and I bet you he will just ignore you.

LoS isn't really built on something that should or could go on for long. Obviously they're gonna do sequel, but there's no point in stretching it.

I prefer the "multiple continuities" approach. If I were Konami, I would clear out and conclude the classic timeline and finally reboot it the right way (not the way LoS did it). But I really have no idea what their plan is. With the ignoring of the anniversary and everything else, I could just throw a dart at a random decision and it might be what they're gonna do.

I don't think this is the case. Other M is part of the main continuity, it just happens way before the Prime games do.

That said, I think there's plenty of room for two continuities in CV. There's no reason not to continue the old continuity and even gaiden games on handhelds/download and the new one on consoles.

it was a NoA guy i think that said they were a "separate" collection of games with a different concept and style or some thing.

I don't think the LOS saga will go on for too long, a trilogy at best since they're all the rage today.

I am in favor of a multi universe approch to Castlevania but I still think they should at the very least tie up the loose ends from the original timeline and then do whatever they want with the series after that.

I would love a multiverse Castlevania.

I'm a huge fan of the Mega Man series and I think something similar could work for Castlevania.

I actually like what Flame proposed which is Konami finally finishing up the old timeline with the Demon Castle Wars game (which means they should bring IGA back for it) and afterwards moving on to another developer and letting them have a crack at it.

But as of late it just seems like Konami could care less at this point about the Classic CV games.

Given how they handled the 25th anniversary that much is painfully obvious.

All they are seeing is $$$$$ signs and anything else is of no concern. The only CV continuity they seem to be focused on is LOS.

I'll gladly take the multiverse take on the series just as long as it doesn't go the Final Fantasy route where almost every game is a new world. Two or three different timelines is plenty enough. I would like to see the classic timeline finished as well as more Lords of Shadow, but if a new timeline starts as well I'll take that too. But more than that and I think that may be too much and start to confuse to many people
What a horrible night to have a curse!

God forbid they make it like Final Fantasy!!!

As was pointed out earlier I think the Megaman universe got it right.

On one side we have the classic Mega Man series which goes

Megaman, Megaman X, Megaman Zero, Megaman ZX, and Megaman Legends.

And in another universe we have Megaman Starforce and Megaman Battle network.

I think Castlevania doing something similar might be a good idea.

Classic Castlevanai Universe
Castlevania LOS Universe
and New Castlevania Universe (which is them letting another developer reboot and give their take on Castlevania).

As much as I don't like LoS, though it wasn't all terrible, I believe Konami is thinking it's a winning ticket and will plow through with it like they did "Metroidvanias" (Ugh, I hate taht term but it's so common now.)

Really, LoS is just a creative interpretation on the story and lore.

Artistic Licence. People just cant handle it not being what they know.

but I would love to see different studios and devs take a shot.

and just for the lulz- a Capcomvania.

I voted for a multiverse Castlevania. Konami can keep their money making machine if they want, But I'd like to see other developers take a 'stab' at the series to see what they can do. And who knows? Maybe said developers could make such a kick-@$$ game that Konami would reconsider what we've all been screaming for the past couple of years.

As much as I'd like to see them continue with both continuities, it's obvious Konami is investing in only 1 right now. COX confirmed that him & his team signed 2 contracts for unannounced projects, one of them most likely is Lords of Shadow 2 and the other will probably be a game for the 3DS/Vita (MS confirmed that they had a 3DS Development kit & were intrigued by what they could do with it). On the other hand IGA showed interest in 3DS capabilities too, but he doesn't call the shots anymore or else we would've been had a new game by now.

If IGA & friends were tasked by Konami fatheads to do another game that isn't LEEDMEES 2, it'll probably be a port of Harmony of Despair for the Vita lol!

And you suckers will it eat that shit up.
