I thought SotN was live instruments. Or am i confusing that with something.
Nope. It's synth, but only prerecorded. I don't really think in any of the cv titles' the music was done with live instruments.

thirdly but least important is to flesh out Richters game and give it some linearity too, otherwise it just feels like a jumbled mess where you can go strait to drac if you really want.

But that's what makes extra character modes so much fun! You can draw your own path through castlevania!

I dont think so either, but that would be really cool.

Then leave it as an option for all characters. Fleshed out, with some story, items and everything main game and extra mode without those, but as a selectable mode not character specific.

What if i wanted to rush through the game as alucard without all the level ups, weapons, items, storyline and linearity? :P

So yeah, once you pick a character have an option [original] and [old school], each with their respective stuff for both characters.

Yeah, that would also be cool. Y'know what? While we're suggesting things, why don't I just bring up a random thought on my mind?? Why not have a castlevania where you can design the entire castle map, place the enemies, bosses, items, relics, powerups, abilities, and storyline, then play through it as anyone or anything you want? Wouldnt that rock?

Redrawn sprites for Richter, and a fleshed out storyline for him, including weapon/armor power-ups and a level-up system.

(With a completely new boss fight to end the game and show how he succumbs to Shaft's control...)

Sure, but I can't find myself doing it, unless I end up really bored (high probability) and it might take a lot of skills depending on how that works.

One thing I love about the metroidvania's though is going through the castle and discovering all the different areas. If I already knew the whole castle layout it wouldn't be as much fun well least in my case. :)

I'd think that kind of thing would work better for online stuff, being able to create&upload your castle for others to download and enjoy.

Wasn't there a fan project in the works like that, or am I just mistaken?

I'd make Al's appearance change when he changes equipment, make Richter's game more memorable, and make the Inverted Castle more like the first castle in that you have to get certain relics before you can get to all of it.

Some campy parts of the dialogue are legendary, but some things should simply be removed. Like parts of Drac's speech after defeat. I mean, he quotes the Bible..

It's a grueling death match between father and son, not the conclusion of a James Bond movie. It's cool Drac quotes it, seeing as he used to be a devoted man of God, but it doesn't fit the situation. Al's reaction is exactly what I thought when I heard it the first time.

Dracula quoting the Bible after his defeat was awesome! Dracula was very religious before he became evil.

Why not give everyone guns and then it can be contravania!!!

As for what I would change? The battle between Alucard and Dracula. It was a battle between father and son, it should have been a very personal and epic battle. However, Dracula just sat on his throne the whole time. Very disappointing compared to what could have been.
