The worst boss in the Castlevania series

what's the worst boss for you in the entire castlevania series?
it can be a crazily powerful boss, a horribly lame or stupid one, or one you just can't stand
i'm not giving my answer yet so we can see all our opinions :)

Foofy beat me to the punch, but as a close second,

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Keremet (Hard, Lv 1)

Wallman from OoE is the easiest in the series, hands down

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - Wallman

Wallman was easy, but I think he had some good ideas behind him, in that fighting him was more of a puzzle you had to figure out than just a straight out hack and slash. For that reason alone I wouldn't call him one of the worst bosses in the CV series.

IMO a lot of Harmony of Dissonance bosses had a lot of wasted potential. Corpse Legion, for instance. That could have been a really cool boss fight, but in the end it was just wailing on that little guy inside the Legion. Not too impressive IMO ~_~

That rock monster/golem thing on stage 4 of Haunted Castle was the absolute worst for me, by far. Its attacks were practically unavoidable, it dodged most of your shots, and it was terribly designed overall. It always seems like it's just pure luck whenever you beat him. I hated that damn thing.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

As an addendum to Foofy's entry I'd just like to say that if Max Slimer and his spawn moved like the slimes in CV2 it would be a freakin' nightmare boss.

i was never a fan of "The Creature" in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.  I'd probably be fine if it was a Cyclops instead.  But a punk Frankenstein?  I'm guessing that they originally made him a Cyclops and then said "oh wait, we need the five original CV bosses, lets turn this one into Frankenstein's monster".  I would have preferred a "real" Creature.

You guys are all picking the uncreative/uninspired bosses. Frankly, I think bosses that are broken are worse.

The Golem in Haunted Castle is a shining example. Depending on his height, his "Arm launch" attack cannot be avoided, so winning the battle depends heavily on how the golem is positioned, rather than skill. Without this cheapness, the golem is also a very uninspired boss, since that is his only attack, and when he's not positioned in an impossible-to-dodge way, the move is very easy to avoid. The Golem also has a common tendency of moving away from you if you jump forward, drawing out the pointless battle further. The boss poses no genuine challenge and lacks creativety. I believe that earns him the award of worst boss in Castlevania history.

I say the worst were the titan fight in LoS.  They were difficult to beat and weren't fun at all.

Hmm... I'm having a tough time choosing between the Minotaur and Dullahan from COD, or the Dracolith in LOS. First two are for the reasons being that they're both hard to steal from. As for the Dracolith, it was simply a bitch to climb on and hit. I'm on the fence with this one

If mini-bosses count, there is pretty much no way to lose to that mini-boss in Bloodlines on stage 2, where all he does is raise the water.

Some of the HOD bosses obviously.
Dracula in ROB and final battle with him in SOTN.

I think the worst boss in Cv history (for me anyways) is SotN's version of the Phantom bat. No challenge what-so-ever. It's wings were CG rather then sprited like his body was which looked stupid and...flat. It was just a horrible translation for the first CV boss of CV1 to appear as such. And I firmly believe that any spriter on this forum could do a much better job then what was presented in the end  :P

PS. I also wasn't fond of the Creature either.

Religion is Man's flawed interpretation of Spirituality given back to humanity..."
