A NES cart from a retail store.

I was 6 years old when I saw my neighbor across the street beat Dracula. I mistakenly thought the hero's name was "Konami" because I had seen the game in arcades, and thought it was called "Konami Vs. Castlevania." Hence, I concluded that the guy going up against Castlevania was "Konami." My neighbor set me straight, and I heard the name of this longhaired whippin-dude for the first time.

Simon Belmont.

I eventually got it (for the NES), but it was a long time before I sat down and decided to play through to the end.
Are ya smokin' yet?!

Good one.  You can play as Konami Man vs. Castlevania in Konami Wai Wai world.  Unfortunately, when I got to the arcade today, they had switched out the Vs. Castlevania board with a Vs. Tetris.  Apparently it wasn't making any money since most the players were complaining about an insane time limit in the game which would usually run out by the time you got to the Mummies and cause your death.

Hmm it was like 10 years ago, played it for the first time after having played DX-Symphony-Chronicles. I loved how even in the early NES graphics the atmosphere was there. Had as hell of course, only got to Medusa. Then something like 4 years ago I finally beat it, and I've never felt such a man since then.

Everything comes full circle
