@Jazz Even then, don't think you'll necessarily have all this attention and mental energy to game in bed. Believe me, so many odd things here and there become crucial when a child is born and requires your attention.

We shall see. Our first little one had to sleep with me exclusively for a while after she was born since her mother had a few complications. She consequently got a little to used to body warmth and knowing when I was right next to her, so it took about 3 years for her to start sleeping on her own. Which made for some really annoying naps in the middle of the day where I'd otherwise spend 2-3 hours staring at the ceiling if it was one of those days she didn't permit me to move much. If I got lucky though, I could do the WII U for a bit...Didn't happen a lot, but better than nothing, for sure.

I've never been a Sonic fan, but I'm really into Sonic Mania+ on Switch at the moment. If the old Sonic games are this good, I've definitely been missing out.

I'd definitely recommend Sonic's 2, 3, and Sonic & Knucles. Those three games are what I like to call the Death Egg trilogy. In my opinion they rank the highest in terms of sonic greatness.

I would say Mania ranks in the 'better' category, even when it comes to oldschool sonic. I agree with X about 2 and 3, personally I've never liked S&K or Sonic CD, but people rave about them.

Pour one out for my Leon Belmont build on Skyrim Special Edition, who passed away last night.

He died as he lived: neck deep in vampires (ha), killing them one by one. I decided it was a fitting end for a guy with a murder-boner for vampires, so that’s that. The king of vampire slaying is dead.

Fortunately, his daughter, Alessia Laguardia has taken up his whip, and gone into the Monster Hunting business. The whip ain’t what it used to be (I actually toned down the power of the enchantments by half to simulate wear and tear), but there’s still no finer implement for killing vampires, werewolves, and other nocturnal nasties this side of Artaeum. Long live the Queen.

At some point I will get pics of her up on Tumblr. But she looks BADASS.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

S&K is actually part 2 of Sonic 3. I don't know why but the developers broke the game up into two parts before launch.

I “beat” Sonic Mania yesterday (missing most of the chaos emeralds etc) and I’m going to keep playing it but I went ahead and got a copy of Sonic 2 on Steam. Going to give that a shot soon.

Hang on. Knuckles was an add on to 2 and 3 with the S&K cart. But if you put the cart in by itself, S&K is its own game.

I know. But if you read up on the development history of the two titles you will find that they were planned originally as one game.

Right okay. Maybe it's me but I still feel like S&K and CD feel more similar.

Sonic 3 feels like a cross between 1/2 to me.

Mania has borrowed elements but feels more like its own game to me.

The Doom Eternal reveal got me all hyped up, so I had to play the last one all over again. I seriously can't wait for Eternal. It's gonna be such a loooooong wait too...  :'(

Been on and off on Arkham Knight lately...it just feels so different from the rest of the Arkham games, and not in a good way. Really not a fan of the AR challenges that involve racing and vehicular combat. I just really don't like the Batmobile that much in this game. Still not sure if I want to go for the Knightfall ending, or just watch it on youtube.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I LOVED Arkham Asylum and City, easily in my top 5 favorite games of last console gen... but similarly, I could not get into Arkham Knight. There are several reasons, but the batmobile really negatively impacted the whole experience for me. There was simply too much of it required to get through the game, and I'm just not the biggest fan of driving or car combat games. There was also no metroid-esque feeling of player progression like in the first to Batman games either. I loved the first two games so much that I was certain I would love Knight as well, but somehow they dropped the ball with that game.

Honestly, I liked Arkham Origins.

I like that it felt like an expansion pack to City (because it basically was) that explored some earlier events and opened up the scope of the map so you could really explore Gotham City more with Arkham City's incredible fluidity. Getting to go visit the COMPLETE overworld map of Arkham City before it got turned into a Prison Shantytown was just icing on the cake.

And Troy Baker did one MEAN Mark Hamill impression. Kudos.

I still haven't played that. I'll probably try to pick it up next time I'm in the Batman mood.
