All the 3DS stuff will be shown at 6pm PST.  It's a second conference, basically.
I'm digging the Mario goodness though (Paper Mario, NewSMBU, NewSMB2).

But they need to STOP SHOWING BULLSHIT CASUAL GRANDMA TITLES.  THIS IS NOT THE TIME!

I completely agree. The only thing that looked cool was Zombi U.

Ubisoft won E3. Think about that for a second.

UBISOFT.WON.E3.

I know, right? But like they say, À cheval donné on ne regarde pas la bride

Do you think the 3DS conference will have suprise announcements, or just extensions of what was shown at today's press event. Because, we saw enough to know there are some good games on 3DS, but we didn't see hints at the future.

Also, are there any more surprises for Wii? What about (the rumored) Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection, or Disaster: Day of Crisis and Pandora's Tower for North America?

Like I hinted, I'm surprisingly cool with them showing Wii Fit U, as that series has been more enjoyable than I expected, and they didn't spend much time on it. However, they needed to show a lot more "game games," and they said they would. (I needed at least a Star Fox, Metroid, or Zelda demo/tease to round things out. All the Mario stuff was cool, but a little too familiar). Still waiting to see that Platinum Games surprise game. Where was the solid price and release date info?

EDIT: Platinum's Wii U "Project P100" on Spike now. It's by Hideki Kamiya (Bayonetta, etc).

EDIT 2: Looks like Pikmin meets Viewtiful Joe and FF's Crystal subseries...very action-based and cartoony...Not looking so hot....

Anyway, Ubisoft winning, I suppose so...

Most of their games, while technically impressive, seemed like they were mostly movies with occasional gameplay. I don't understand the fuss about Watchdogs. Sure it looks nice and has scope, but it still seems more like a movie than a game. Plus, the neat "listening in" spying function was in the underrated SpyFiction on PS2. (Now there's a game that actually needs a sequel).

I like Pikmin, Crystal Chronicles, and Hideki Kamiya.

Not seeing the problem. It looks fun, if unconventional.

Well, you're right. It's not that it doesn't look fun...but it doesn't look like it'll be much more fun than the kind of stuff from Nintendo Land. I guess I was looking for something "louder"...like what they're doing with MGS Rising.

You know, this E3, I guess I am still intrigued by Konami. Want to see more Castlevania, maybe some surprises, and Metal Gear Rising looks like it's coming together a little better than I thought it would. Oh, and Capcom...what do they have? DMC? That appears better than in earlier trailers, though not really groundbreaking for a reboot. Lost Planet 3 has potential. I don't know...

I'm grasping at straws here. Good thing I still have a backlog of games I haven't gotten or played yet this generation (which hasn't been as robust as previous generations on the whole in terms of Sony + Nintendo + MS, IMO). I think the Bionic Commando 3D reboot has been my favorite next-gen game of this generation.

Correction on my part: The 3DS Stuff is tomorrow, not today.

Nintendo needs to keep ALL of the "Casual Grandma/Dorky Dad" titles OUT of the presentations.  Show them afterwards.  They are doing things backwards (I guess the market drives 'em that way)?  The balance board needed 5 minutes of our time at best.  The NintendoLand looks like it 'could' be cool... but the hardcore gamers would've wanted a Metroid minigame and a Zelda minigame shown, not the Animal Crossing stuff (no offense to Luigi's Mansion).

The Luigi's Mansion minigame made me want Namco to bring back Pac-Man VS.

Nothing wit the dorky family needed to devote that much time, and when grandma started playing I was checking my phone and other websites.

Nintendo has 360 days to show the casual games, but during E3 they need to bring out the heavy hitters.

Notable absences:
-Nothing from F-Zero
-Nothing from Metroid
-Nothing from Wario
-Nothing from Kid Icarus
-Nothing from Star Fox

Pikmin 3 was nice but no system seller and it's new footage of stuff we've known of for years.

See if Nintendo was "so bad it's good" then maybe I would have liked it a bit more.

But that shit was just....bad. Especially since your trying to sell a new console you claimed is more 'core focused" when all we saw was casual crap and year old ports.

Correct, but isn't that the case with the 3DS stuff we were shown? You know, this kind of reminds me of the Gamecube launch...

Oh, and please don't tell me I've waited this long for a new Pikmin (on Wii NOT Wii U, which it was ported/upgraded to) only to have 1 new type of Pikmin (rock). At the beginning of the trailer, it seemed to tease a flying type, too. But as neat as Pikmin 3 is, you're right, it's still not a system seller.

EDIT: Yeah, you know, they should have just slapped down franchise after franchise of the Nintendo classics. That was really the only way to make this system work. That, or a crazy-good new IP.

I guess the question is: how long have they actually been working on the "games" for this new system. I think they overbooked themselves on 3DS and Skyward Sword maybe. Heck, Pikmin 3 has been in the works for who knows how long for Wii, showing that they had resources stretched.

The problem is they're not putting out any 1st party 'core focused' titles. I guess they got so lambasted over not having 3rd party support for the Wii that they've completely put all of their faith in 3rd party titles for the Wii U like they did with the 3DS. Problem with that is all of the 3DS software showed up late.

Looking at Nintendo's website, there are actually 'core focused' games coming out for the launch, they're just not talking about them because everyone else is, I guess.

We've got:
ZombiU
Assassin's Creed III
Darksiders II
Pikmin 3
New Super Mario Bros U
Project P-100

It's not stellar, but I don't usually expect launches to be stellar.

Pikmin 3 almost doesn't count. It's like Twilight Princess on the Wii launch line-up. It's something that was taken away from the previous console and saved to bolster a weak lineup (albiet, this time, it was visually upgraded). Still, if you take out Pikmin 3, which should have been on Wii, the 1st party lineup relies on New Super Mario Bros U for new games. I think I heard Darksiders II has been delayed on all systems.

SONY QUESTIONS: Where is The Last Guardian from team ICO?! Also, why no huge PS Vita lineup?

Watch Dogs looks fantastic. I'm VERY tired of sandbox style video games and I wish they would go away already, but I can't deny this looks so damn beautiful and exciting. Ubisoft, who would've thought...

That was kind of my point. The games are there, they're just not 1st party, which is why Nintendo isn't talking about them. And Darksiders II was delayed, but it was only until August.

And yeah, I don't know what Sony is doing. They just released the Vita and it feels like they're just resting on their laurels. Nintendo had to work their collective asses off to recover from the 3DS launch, so Sony, come on, let's see some legwork!

I was kind of excited about the Wii U until the press conference. Sorry but Nintendo Land doesn't do it for me.

As bad as the Nintendo conference was, it was still miles better than Microsoft and probably on par with Sony.  Sony drops the ball in that it's got this brand-new awesome handheld and nothing to show for it.  Nothing particularly memorable (there are a few things here and there but the 3DS is looking like the handheld with the cool titles).

We gotta check out the third parties now:  Konami, Ubisoft (and yeah!  Who Knew!?  Their stuff looks cool.  I dig Scribblenauts Ultimate with Multiplayer :D ), and... Capcom?

Don't give up guys. Just because you're not happy with e3 and what the companies had to show doesn't mean anything. When all else fails you could always retro game. Play and discover games you hadn't played before. Theres so many NES and SNES games out there that I haven't even tried yet. Check through Virtual Console. It isn't a total loss.

To be honest I think the best work being done isn't at e3. Its from private developers who grew up playing these awesome games and aspire to make the games as good if not better than the ones they grew up with. Keep the faith alive guys :) you never know what could happen in the future.

Right now I get a nice helping of RetroGaming via my 3DS and my Wii.  And I've got some import titles on Wii to catch up on ("The Last Story" and "Pandora's Tower" are calling out to me).
