Well, again, to be fair, Incubbus, if it's not an indie game in the *strictest* sense it's still an indie game in a looser sense, at least. Details may be important, but an excessive focus on technicalities generally doesn't lead to many productive pursuits. Even if La Mulana isn't 100% indie, the 'official/corporate' sponsors are still doing their best to bring us something we want, they're not just shivving us for money as their ilk often does. For that alone I'd say they deserve our cash.
That said, though, again, since you're not actually pirating the game, I don't really see the need for acrimony. And sure, someone petty may have reacted worse than you did, but we're not petty guys, as you said, and besides, those of us who've been around the Dungeon for a while have pretty thick skins--uzo can be harsh, but he almost always has arguments to back it up, which puts him a cut above the sort of Internet Tuff Guys you see elsewhere. If, in this case, his criticism of you seems to be based on a belief that you're pirating the game when you really aren't (Maybe I'm wrong, if I'm misinterpreting him or you as well), I wouldn't dwell that much on it.
