I agree. It'll be perfect for a stage theme. Accidentally you provided something that's going to be useful for a hidden character, since that boss'll be perfectly unlockable for play. Remember Saturn SOTN, where the initial hallway had a different theme depending on the character that you select? Well, think that music for a hidden char.

Thanks, folks. And I'm pleased to hear that maybe this offbeat take has a place in your project after all.  ;D

If I wasn't such a bum, I would be composing and arranging more. Can you imagine "Silence of Daylight" from Simon's Quest in the style of "Woodcarving Partitia"? Or "Sinking Old Sanctuary" a-la "Outer Wall", including the extra melodies from the CotM version? I can. But so far I've been such a lazy oaf that they're still in my head, and not in MIDI files where everyone ELSE can hear them!  :P

I would suggest then, that you make'em a reality. :D There's never enough mixes, be it for a project or standalone :D

EDIT:

In fact, why wouldn't you try: A Vision of Dark Secrets, arranged with some strong&loud stuff? Make it sound brutal. Jorge's arrangement is decent, but despite being of higher quality than the CotM version, it lacks some of that one's raw drum-like brutality. It'd be interesting to hear what you come up with on that one.

That last submission should've been in Order of Ecclesia's "Albus Mode" as a stage tune instead of "An Empty Tome". :D

Might be interesting...but don't be surprised if I go off on some crazy tangent again. ;)

By the way, I must be blind as a bat (heh heh) or something...but while I can see the Fan MIDI section, I can't find any instructions on how to make submissions. And I'd REALLY like to make my MIDI originals available as I come up with 'em, so that others can get their hands on them and do many crazy soundfont experiments. :D

p.s. ...is it so wrong that I can't resist listening to my own arrangement over and over and over again...? ;)

After listening to it some more, I think it would be better if you were to omit the intro (the whatever-that-string-instrument-was and organ part, I think) when it loops.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

I have to admit that even I find that transition a bit clunky. If Dalles does indeed want to integrate it into his final project, I'd be willing to rework it at that time.

Oh, and" Vision of Dark Secrets" is coming along fine...in my head. ;) I was given fair warning that this would be a crazy work week, so I may not get to "write it down" until Friday. I can tell you that triumphant guitars will be involved, and - since the tune itself is so short - something else will be "flown in" to make up the "chorus". You'll see. :D

...I sure am throwing around a lot of quotation marks, aren't I?  :P

Yes, I indeed want to integrate it. I am serious about it.

Good to hear that the other track is progressing along ;)

Alright, now that the long and crazy week is over, let's get back to the music, shall we? :)

There seems to be some agreement that my remix, with both the harpsichord and Beginning-esque guitar sequences at the loop point, makes for a somewhat clunky and overlong wraparound. One of two bits needs to go for the loop.

The question is...which one?

I've prepared two alternate takes to consider, which are in the following 7zip:
www.mediafire.com/?05mmibvheh0bzah

The first one drops the 'chord in favor of the guitars, which is closer to the layout and spirit of the original. The second drops the guitar in favor of the 'chord, and is actually the one I prefer because it has a better feel for the "Dracula's Castle" stage style I was aiming for.

So...which direction should this piece go in? :)

Simon's Boss Theme, something like they did with Richter's Blood Relations, maybe mixing Theme of Simon with Poison Mind, dunno, since I dont understand not even a "la" or "fa" lol
If information is needed for "inspiration" and you imagine the scene, you only need to ask me  :P

Personally I'm leaning towards the first one.
