Dracula X Chronicles Co-Op Question

So in Dracula X Chronicles, as most of you probably know, the boss rush mode is co-op. In this co-op, do both players play at the same time, or is it turn-taking like the old-school Mario games? And can both players use the same character, or do they have to be opposite?

I've never actually played the co-op mode over Ad-Hoc or online with Ad-Hoc Party, so I don't know.

Are you maybe thinking of Portrait of Ruin's co-op being limited to on-line?

Wow, I just checked the game and the Boss Rush mode is, indeed, co-op.  I've never tried it, so I'm afraid I can't answer Claimh's question.

No. As PFG9000 pointed out, DXC's Boss Rush mode is co-op. And as I can see, no one else has tried it. XD Dang it.

Though I would also like to know about PoR's co-op, since I haven't played it either.

I have played a little of the PoR co-op.  It's entertaining, but very minimal.  Basically it's just like single player bossrush, but with an extra sprite there to distract you.

Meh. That sounds disappointing. I've been heavily into co-op gaming, and knowing there are a few CV games with co-op in them, I felt a bit excited. But Judgment's Versus Mode only lasts so long, and Harmony of Despair's novelty died out after a while. I was hoping DXC or PoR would be something more.
