I don't like the lack of enemy variety in the CV64 games.

That's like the main problem of all 3d games I've played so far.. As for C64 - I think it has enough enemy kinds, but doesn't use them right. There are enemies you meet once or twice in the game.

Will the hi-res CV64 patch work with a LoD rom?
And speaking of my dreams, I'll be leaving the country on late July or August, based on how plans go.

I believe the High-res patch is ONLY for LoD.  I didn't know there was a Castlevani64 version, since LoD is, from a gameplay perspective, tweaked to be an overall better experience (controllable camera, tweaked situational camera controls, etc.).

Here's my new hope for 2013. I hope that the XBOX 180 brings down Microshaft and all other gaming companies learn from this horrid mistake about what NOT to do with a gaming console.

I want an Indie console! Console designed especially for cool small indie games (2d preferably ). I don't know why - may be I'm too old ;D , but I don't get excited over new mainstream "big" games anymore. But indie developers are still awesome! And thanks to projects like Kickstarter we actually can play these games. I've found 3 promising metroidvanias there (Valdis Story: Abyssal City, A.N.N.E, Chasm). Also I had fun playing Aztaka by Citeremis (Aztec metroidvania!). Kurovadis was a cool little metrodvania (with hentai! :P). Unepic was a nice game too. There are other great games I'm going to play.
