Hey there guys.
If you want to you can discuss about Dark Souls 2 here.
A new trailer has been released and it is pretty awesome:
Dark Souls II - PS3/X360 - Cursed (Trailer)
What do you think?

looks pretty cool... the last game was a blast, i honestly think it was my favorite game since symphony, i couldn't stop playing it. would be nice if they added some new enemy behaviors, though, like having enemies wandering around and not just always waiting motionlessly until you reach them.
konami would do well to take notice of what the souls series has accomplished. i'm not saying they should copy and paste, but take a terrific combat system like souls and add some platforming elements like legacy of darkness, and you have a very cool game. the platforming could add some vertical movement and level design, which souls mostly lacks.

Yeah, you're right. It would make for a very good Castlevania game. Maybe sometimes in a not too far distant future... :P (Though I am pretty happy with LoS, but let's not discuss LoS here yet again).
What I do like though is that one of the enemies that is shown in the trailer actually resembles Legion or well the concept resembles Legion. A creature made of undead bodies. :D

I sincerely hope I'm done with LOS2 by the time this comes out. Because I want to take this easy and immerse myself just like I did the last one.

One of the iconic things about this series are the boss fights.  Very few videogames boss fight stand out like this series does.
And the world is really out there.   ;D

Souls games are true Castlevania successors.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks

They really should add long whips, at least chain whips.   Then created Belmont characters would have deeper meaning.   ;D

Oh DS had whips.

Dark Souls Weapon Showcase: Whips

Though they can improve upon them so they are as useful and effective as any other weapon and feel more than a belt whip,

and make a official Whip Class that players can start with.    People can have bows and fireballs and stuff, so giving whips more range and potency would be fair.

I think they made whips more viable in Dark Souls 2.

So is Dark Souls 2 "easier" (i.e. closer to being a normal goddamn game with balanced enemies and less input delay), or is it more of the same shit with a beautiful-looking gothic world dragged down by an asshole developer who just wants to troll you?

I wish From Software made all of their games more like Lost Kingdoms.

Play better games.

And don't defend poorly designed/counter-intuitive ones by saying that's how you make something naturally challenging and it's soooo smart for being "minimalistic."  Or at least accept that not everyone has to adore niche retardedly-balls-to-the-wall-difficult-just-for-the-sake-of-difficult Mario ROM hack-tier games as much as you.

I beat Dark Souls months ago btw, so there goes your sour grapes theory.  I do like what it was going for artistically.  I just have issues with how it was implemented.

I don't like invasions either, but I just mainly played offline. I went online whenever I wanted to help peeps.

It would be nice for an option to disable invasions or at least make them less likely, especially since in DS "twink" players were very annoying. That is to say, people who intentionally stayed a low level but gave themselves super high-level equipment to troll lower level players. I hope they do something about that in DaS2.

I agree about the hard as balls thing. I LOVED Dark Souls but I could never stick with it cause Id get to some boss I just could not beat (like that goddamn giant wolf) and try upwards of 50-60 times to beat him and not even land a hit and just quit and never play it again. Then I get that overwhelming urge to play it again a few months later and rinse and repeat. I dont want the difficultly of the new 3ds Zelda either but damn ya know

Well Dark Souls II is soon

Avoiding spoilers and stuff, only seen like .1% of footage (well okay, like 2 bosses, but that was beta material), though it is cool to go in fresh for the exploration.

I made more progress in Demon's  Souls than I thought.  It's actually much easier to handle now (well got a Soul Level of 60+, so parts like Boletaria Palace are easier. Beat Penetrator on the first try.... well okay, using arrows (they can REALLY dodge fireballs very well), but there were close calls. )

Not sure if I'll use Souls to get the Penetrator/Tower Knight spells (that greatly increase offense/defense on weapon).  but I would have to raise Intelligence to equip more spells at once. That fireball already took up 2 whole slots, and that Protection spell takes up the 3rd slot I unlocked.    )

So I'm doing pretty well, have an upgraded katana that is now the crescent version, a upgraded bow, and some beastly fire spell.
I just got a White bow, so have to pour a lot of upgrades on Dexterity to use it at optimal stats.  It's totally better than my upgraded longbow.

I just got Dark Souls also, not sure if I'll try it tonight, or after completing Demon's Souls first.   Already got 2 of the 5 worlds completed, and almost done with a 3rd.

Wouldn't recommend watching this, but people that don't care for spoilers want whatever new footage they can get.
