I also find the layout of each stage (not stage blocks) in relevance to one-another is better executed in Dracula X then it was in RoB. And in terms of paths I feel the SNES version stands out much better as it is a reminder of how the CV III stage choices were laid out. In RoB they seem to be conjointed and accessible from almost every other stage. IMO It just feels weak and with no real structure as they are in earlier games. I will say that RoB's stage block layouts are vastly superior to the SNES Dracula X since it was like that in past games too, but that's as far as it goes.
