Star Tropics deserves a new game, maybe on the 3DS. It could be done in a similar style as A Link Between Worlds. Or something.

Oh, and Demon's Crest! Well, the entire Ghouls'n Ghosts franchise deserves to be brought back tbh.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!  I would love both of these, especially another StarTropics!  I wish I had some pull/power, or knew someone with it, to get things like this in the making.  Not that I don't enjoy "modern" games, but I'm definitely all about retro stuff, and there's so much of it that I would love to see come back in some form or another.

Probably my favorite things about this thread are remembering old games I've played and need to pull out again, and finding new old games I need to check out!

@zangetsu468

You could always play the turbo-duo version of Valis III. However I can agree with you. I think the whole Valis series could benefit from a modern release as a compilation.

Cool. Valis reminds me of CV with a sword. Valis III reminds me of CV III with the fact you can switch between characters. Good times :)

Not gonna lie...I do too!  That was one of my first thoughts, but I figured it was A) too weird, B) too unknown, and C) too crazy to start this thread with!  I'm glad to see there's another soul in the world who has played and enjoyed the utmost of bizarre games known as Monster Party!

Another game I just rediscovered is Shadowgate.  Not the easiest thing to figure your way through, but I love this game!  I don't know how something executed in the same style could do well these days -- with all the love for war, guns, halos, and gears ;-P -- but I sure would love another, newer something like this game!

-Saint Sword

-Vampyre: Master of Darkness

Valis franchise was ruined since hey launched a official hentai game and Golden Axe reboot for X360 was a joke. Even so I would like to see they do a decent new game.

A remake of Bionic Commando with the original storyline would be awesome.

A new battletoads would be cool as well.

Also, had anyone beside me played the game "Wurm: Journey to the Center of the Earth"?
The game combined different game styles / genres like sidescroll and overhead shoot-em-up, platforming, and FPS. The game wasn't the greatest ever and could have been much better, but the storyline (in anime-style cutscenes) was interesting enough to deserve a remake. I find the very idea of game that lets you travel to the center of the earth using a futuristic digging vehicle, battling subterranean monsters and discovering subterranean civilizations really cool.

I've never played Bionic Commando, but from what I've seen it looks good!  "Wurm" looks good too!

I've heard many people say they're tired of it, but I'm really enjoying how many developers are using the 8 and 16 bit style in their games.  If it hasn't already, I hope it inspires a bit more love to (and remakes of) games like the ones we've mentioned here!

I played through Crystalis a little while ago and really enjoyed it. If you like it you should check out Soul Blazer if you haven't already. Though the stories and some mechanics are very different I felt like I was playing a de-make of Soul Blazer at times during Crystalis.
