that is baffling that it takes a Zelda for you to be interested in getting a Wii U, but not this?

Considering you seem to idolize Rune, someone from Phantasy Star IV, which is a sci fi RPG that has vehicles that can be used for combat, among dozens of other things Zelda games don't have, but XCX has and a whole lot more, it's really strange that Zelda gets such unhealthy amounts of faith and interest despite how much less it offers and less freedom on multiple levels.
Xenoblade X surpasses what other RPGs and open world games offer. It's baffling that Zelda franchise is so overrated to fanatical proportions, that despite the fact it basically rehashes its usual Link vs Ganonwhatever themes almost to the point that it's a one trick pony like Mario scenarios, yet nintendo fans don't need a lot to be convinced to buy a console for a Zelda game. and in the meantime, a lot of people are getting a console for Fallout 4, which is basically a garbage dump compared to XCX. Even Mass Effect trilogy is shallow compared to what Xenoblade X brings to the table.
I think it's a combination of fanatical zeal towards longtime franchises (are too sensitive to try something different),
xenophobic attitude towards foreign games (yes there is racism and fanatical crowds that only give western games a chance),
ridicule towards the Wii U itself and its low sales (Wii U is seen as a joke by the masses, which further makes it difficult for even a masterpiece to convince people to get a Wii U for),
the immature audience that can't accept more mature themes and serious tone (which is why those gamers only care about Mario and Zelda related stuff),
and the skeptics, that see everything as negative, and think that anyone praises something that isn't mainstream or not in their interest, are seen as marketers.
Xenoblade X is the RPG a lot of people been waiting for, but are too distracted by franchise with longer legacies (and less thought and effort put into them) to explore Xenoblade X's masterful qualities.
As a Phantasy Star fan myself, in my opinion, XCX is everything Sega should be doing for Phantasy Star. It's obvious they are out of ideas for Sonic. it is wasteful that the only thing they do for Phantasy Star is PSO2 and maybe some portable. giving Sonic more support than Phantasy Star is like if Square were to support Brave Fencer Musashi more than Final Fantasy in a scenario where Musashi was their flagship franchise, and Final Fantasy just came along later on. it's would be obvious to dump Musashi and support FF. IMO, Sega should change mascots and franchise focus, then again, they probably don't have the talent to do what XCX is doing, even if they were to allocate all of Sonic's budget to a Phantasy Star console open world RPG
and Nintendo overlooking Xenoblade Chronicles X is like if Square USA or Sony USA would overlook FFVII during PS1 era and not promote it as much as they should.
A lot of masterpieces get missed because the gamers are satisfied and only interested in the franchises that have been around since the 80s.
Yes even a supreme masterpiece is not for everyone, but there is no mecha RPG nor RPG in general at Xenoblade X's level and league of brilliance. It really deserves Final Fantasy levels of hype from rpg fans, especially the Wii U fans which are starving for a worthy exclusive. Considering I have specific tastes in rpg design quality and other things, for Xenoblade X to convince me to get a Wii U for it, says a lot about how significant Xenoblade Chronicles X really is.
Anyone that has that affinity towards wanting an RPG specifically like this, that hasn't come to be until Monolith Soft literally made it happen, could feel the same. You don't get an rpg exactly like this every gen. And there has never been an RPG of this kind and level until now.
