Nice! Enjoyed it. I don't have Starz but if they keep up this level of quality/barring any dire warnings from others I'll definitely pick up the season set.
Yeah it's too bad they had to go with the "Ash comes out of retirement" angle but they really had no choice, since Bruce Campbell IS Ash and I and other fans would immediately reject any other actor trying to take the part. It's interesting that the only real "horror" scenes occurred without Ash present, but those were effectively creepy.
It seems like they're operating under the assumption Army of Darkness never happened since Ash makes no mention of it and repeatedly says what happened was "30 years ago". So presumably 1987 when Evil Dead 2 came out, rather than Army of Darkness's 1993 release which would make it closer to 20 years. I know there are some rights issues but here's hoping we do eventually see elements and maybe even characters from Army of Darkness brought it. That would be an excellent angle for a season 2.
PS- I know I can't be the only fan hoping Ted Raimi shows up, preferably in multiple parts.
