Surprise, surprise, gameplay looks closer to XV.
Also, has Cloud always been this lanky?
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Yes. SOLDIERs more or less stop aging once they have the Mako injection, and Cloud had his (and then some) at 16.

That does look catchy despite my lack of interest in FF VII.

I wouldn't bother with the PC version personally. Chances are they're going to pull the same shit they did with the PC fallout 4. In other words the entire game will not be on disc and you would need to download the rest of the game off Steam. That, and you will most likely need the steam app to run the game like with Fallout 4, Skyrim, etc. And that's because PCs don't yet utilize Blu ray. There's only so much that you can put on a DVD disc compared to how much more you can put on a Blu ray DVD disc.

I like the fact that they are being faithful to the original gameplay from the PSX while trying to incorporate more modern gameplay elements from FF15.

I liked Advent Children, I thought it was an awesome movie, but this art style even though it shares similarities with AC does remind me of basically an modern version of the original PSX game. Maybe it's the color palette.

I just hope that they keep all the secrets and optional quests from the original game. That was one thing that always bothered me about the later games as they became too cinematic and linear and basically when you finished the game that was it.

You basically played through an experience and not an actual game. (If that makes sense.)

All we need now is a remake of my favorite game in the series, FF8.

I really like what I'm seeing. I was never a big fan of the original so I'm glad they're doing something different with the remake. I especially like how the camera seems to be following Cloud from behind when he's running. The pre-rendered backgrounds in FF7 weren't my cup of tea at all. Some of it looked really muddy, especially after getting used to the cleaner graphics of the SNES era.

That new battle system is gonna disappoint sooo many FF7 fans though. I think it looks pretty great!

This needs to be on PC along with FFXV, why should the players be subjected to such frame-drops?
Either develop for the damn hardware in mind or put it on hardware the can handle the damn game, it's 2015, console wars are now a laughing joke.
Shit, it's not hard to make a game both visually stunning and run smoothly, Croteam and Nintendo has been doing this for decades.

But as I digress from my current gen console rant, this remake is either going to be loved or hated, I'm personally not liking how blank Cloud is, he's basically a cockier Zack at this point, give him a damn personality. And Barret's redesign made me laugh, loose the shades, it looks bad.

Despite Squeenix having shown themselves to be full of shit on more than one occasion, I'd like to think that they at least know their playerbase and the amount of nostalgia attached to FFVII, and retain as much as they're able to (by this I mean certain things like Mukki the gay bodybuilder probably will be changed simply due to the more PC world we live in now).

Because, simply put, if they fucked this up too badly, it would in all likelihood cause their reputation serious damage.

This looks great!

I'm so glad that it's going to be an action RPG.
I've never been a big fan turn based combat.

They already mentioned that the famous cross-dressing scene is in.

I am interested on how they are going to tackle this though.

Re: Cloud's appearance, he's much younger in this game than in AC.
I was hoping for more of AC's character designs to be put into this game, but Barret's model states otherwise.

I'm calling they're using the XV engine again (why wouldn't they) and the gameplay looks decent.

Midgar looks dark and grimy, just as I remembered it.

AC only takes place two years after the game, though, which puts him at 21. Granted, we can be realistic and assume the entire journey of the game took place over, say several months (let's be generous and say 6-8), which might put him at 20 at the very beginning of it. But either way, two years isn't a huge gap.

Also, apparently the game may be episodic.

It might work, but I have to be skeptical. Hopefully they don't fuck this up.

Yeap. That's me. I will always prefer RPG battles to have a more strategic focus over action.
I've heard the game play in the trailer compared to Kingdom Hearts.
I want a remake of FF7, not Kingdom Hearts.
The battle system could have been improved and the animations made more dynamic without switching the basic nature of it.
And, yes, I know I can still play the original, but then that defeats the purpose of having a remake as much as changing the basic battle system does.
Also, yes, I know that at the end of the day it won't matter as much as long as the game play is fun. I'm saying it looks less fun to me than a traditional turn based system.
Lastly, no, I'm not much of a fan of Kingdom Hearts' game play.

Also, apparently the game may be episodic.

Bleh. I'd rather have whole games in general... unless there will be 4 episodes mirroring the 4 discs used of the original, that would be kinda clever.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was sure at around Disc 3 of FFVII, Cloud strays from the group and 7 years pass? (or is it 3 years)
I was sure there were a number of years that pass in FFVII itself.
