Picked it up used at GameStop, as I've skipped the DS titles. Thought I'd start with OoE cus its the only one retaining the gothis style, and I like the level based traveling rather than another gigantic castle once again (POR did a similar thing with the paintings as far as I know, but I hate the art in that game)
So far, I think it's a great game. I love the glyph system, and being able to equip both hands again is an awesome thing to finally bring back.
Graphics so far are nicely detailed. I'm not a DS connoisseur, so I can't really compare it to many other games, but I think it's a very nice looking game.
Digging the music. It's beautifully composed and fits, but hey, I should expect that in a CV game.
As I said above, I was looking forward to the new level based system, and I do love it! Makes playing the game a lot smoother.
I also wasn't expecting the challeneg to be too high, but I got my ass handed to me at the prison Skeleton boss until I used the hammer glyphs. I also love the grappling glyph thingy, makes fighting bosses more fun when you use the hook things to avoid them.
I consider OoE the last real CV game. Judgement was more of a spinoff, and a shitty one at that, and HOD was good but just another spinoff. Then LOS, yes, same franchise, but different universe and story, so to me this is like the last classic CV game. I'm not sure if Adventure Rebirth came out before or after, but even if it did come after, OoE is still the latest new story we get in this universe of CV, and with how shittily Konami acts now, I'm sad to say I think it will remain the last
