::Still glaring at picture::

Image on the left-
Kinda looks like a chick or something having been attacked and exploding at the middle.  Like they've just been slashed and or cut and blood and such is coming from the middle. And the look on her/his face is surprise.

. . . Yeah. . .

Image on the right-
Looks like a guy brandishing a whip, but more so when the pic is further away. (Or the pic from the first post.)

And if IGA keeps to his word (LMFAO) he said after DoS he didn't want to do a game with gimmick like controls.
And yet we got that travesty called the sisters mode which was one huge poorly thought out gimmick. :P

Shows how iga can be trusted.

Here's the picture alongside a googled moon picture, showing negligible change at a distance.

I think realistically it's a reference to the DS game Moon or to Earthbound, but it could be a strong reference to Castlevania.

As soon as I saw the pic on another website I thought it could be about the 1999 Castlevania, however, it could be a new Harvest Moon, or anything for that matter.

lol, so the thing everyone thought to be a person/woman/angel/etc was actually just a crater and is there on the real moon too.

Still, the moon's color might be some indication. Moon's not really portrayed as blood red (well almost blood red here) outside of cv titles too much.

Alas, this is why I laughed.  I too remember that mode. (Never finished it...)

But you have a point in your last point: the image was pretty much just a crater (That ironically looks like people brandishing whips on it. Knew I was looking at that crap too hard. XD) but I suppose the fact that it's red as said still points toward Castlevania.

Cause unless Harvest Moon is about to take a dark turn (like Children of the Corn edition) I couldn't imagine it having a red moon.

I doubt it's Earthbound either but after doing a little research, Azmodan has a good point.  This actually might be for the game called 'Moon':

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - March 14, 2008 - Mastiff, a worldwide publisher of videogames and Renegade Kid, developer of innovative interactive software, today announced the title codenamed "Project M" has been officially named Moon after the cold and barren hunk of rock orbiting earth.

Developed by Renegade Kid, Moon is a sci-fi, action-adventure title for Nintendo DS

True, but I still doubt it's a clue for the game of the same name.

Your more likely to see said moon in a game like Castlevania, not the actual game of the same title, so to think it has something to do with Castlevania has merit too.

Like the clue will actually have something to with the game, not the name of it. (Hence why it would be odd to see said moon in that game.  Cute cows =/= Children of the Corn. XD )

If this was hint for Island of Happiness, that would kinda suck, since there is some pretty good information about the  game (if you care enough to look it up, which I'll admit, I don't...) and it's coming out fairly soon. July I believe.  That would be a pretty lame 'surprise or two'.

At first, I was going to say it had something to do with Final Fantasy IV, which suposably has one of two moons turning bright red. But, I remember that Nintendo Power already did an article regardin FFIV DS, so what could be new about that?

It'll probably be something lame, or not as cool as CV so I won't get my hopes up, but if it is a new castlevania or 2 then I'll be pleasantly surprised!
What a horrible night to have a curse!

That sounds awesome. I'd still like some Castlevania news already, Konami, you jerks.

You know what, I think Nintendo is just screwing with us. It probably means nothing. Was that issue released at any time close to April 1st?
