Since everyone here likes to complain, mostly about the other DS games, I'm curious, what does everyone hate about this one?

Cause so far, I think it's amazing and can't find anything wrong with it
What a horrible night to have a curse!

So far responses are all generally positive- fewer duplicate areas, more new enemies, better music, and extremely beefed up difficulty levels make fans happy.

Personally the biggest gripe I have with the game is how they re-used two tilesets when they had PLENTY of under-used tilesets spread throughout the game. Just make the smaller areas a little bigger and get rid of the duplicates. Dur.

Otherwise this game is amazing.

Nothing so far.  I have yet to get to the second part but I love the difficulty so far.  And the soundtrack...honestly, I think it like it more than the previous titles. (GBA and DS titles anyway.) I can't stop humming the forest theme or the Tymeo Mountains song.
::Glares angrily at Play_Asia for not sending it yet...::
The story is okay and I'm having fun with the gameplay. And it's great seeing all the different locations so far, they're so well detailed. And the animations of Shanoa and some of the enemies are really good.
I mean the only thing that can be complained about is the difficulty, but I find it refreshing honestly.  I haven't been so annoyed by certain enemies since the Medusa Head (I'm DREADING the clocktower...) and that damn Grave Digger...
Though I'll admit, I was 'raging' when I fought the Crab Monster.  The first time I got close, the second I literally killed myself because I tried hoping to the elevator instead of using the glyph to slingshot up there...and the final time, I flung her too low and he kept hitting Shanoa until I lucked out and managed (oh, I've never loved Potions so much until this game...) to get to stop to crush him.  When she said her line I was literally screaming "Fuck Yeah!!"

Felt like my team had won the Super Bowl or something.  :P ;D

A great moment, that one.

Quick review: the backgrounds, environments, sprite artwork and animation is tremendous.  Probably the best 2D game in the series on that front, in terms of work and detail that has gone in.  I'm sure I read one reviewer comparing the graphics to SotN.  In my opinion, as an art package, it blows SotN out of the water.  The game churns out some spectacular environs, particularly at the beginning of the second-half of the game.  Overall, there

For people in the U.S., does your box and manual have English/French/Spanish? Did they make a single version for Canada, the U.S. and Mexico? Just wondering, kind of weird because none of my other games are like this.

Oddly enough, when you first load the game, it asks you if you want to play it in English or French (wonder if it has a similar feature in the Japanese...). Despite the fact that 1/3 of the manual is in Spanish, there is no option to play the game in Spanish. Go fig.

I agree. I just got CV: EOC on Saturday and the first thing I did was open up the manual, thinking we might get some nice art, a storyline, or other goodies. WRONG! :o
But somehow the awesomeness of Shanoa makes up for it all.
