Why does she have black hair on the art but brown on the sprite?

Any one that knows her name btw?

- Brown is easier to see when the outline is black or near black.

- Miscommunication between the staff?

- She's magical, leave her alone.

- Limit on sprite colors?

- Black left when Richter did. Drac's cape is now pink.

- They're saving the black haired one for Dark Shanoa, who shall appear at random times from portals to move the story along, and maybe you fight her sometime. Maybe.

- She dyed it?

- It became bleached from all that modeling she did in front of the moon.

The point is: who cares.

Her name is Skittles.

probably for the same reason richter's hair is blue on his sprites, but dark brown on artwork.

spriters suck at color managing. it's not like the hair makes 95% of her body, she's not a wookie.

People bitching over little things is nothing new here. I do find it remarkable how people are pretty much giving their final judgments over a few screenshots. Also, lol @ the people who complain about a female protaganist. How many Castlevanias have female leads? Let's see..

Legends. (Doesn't really count since it's been cut)
Rondo of Blood. (If you can even call Maria a real protaganist)
Portrait of Ruin. (More of a side-kick character)

Long story short, don't feed the little insects that bitch and moan about every single little detail. "ZOMFG DIS MAZAGINE SCN IS DARK. DA WHOEL GAME SUX NOW LOL!"

Pathetic.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks
DmC: Devil may Cry is the equivalent of trailer trash

codename. her real name wasn't revealed yet and probably won't be until the game's released, just like for example they kept wind's real name a secret until you played the game.

i'm sure there are some little prepubescent boys who can't handle that idea. :o
Reminds me of when Final Fantasy XIII was first announced and it was revealed that Lightning was also a female heroine(and like Shanoa, her name is a code name and her REAL name has yet to be revealed). You had kids saying, "Ah man, a GIRL?! Why couldn't we have another guy, like CLOUD or SQUALL?!!!!". Children, they never cease to amaze me.

There was a poster in this thread I believe that brought up it  but I figured they were just trying to get a rise out of people. That's the only reason I could honestly see such stupidity being brought up.

From IGA interview on IGN:

Quote
The main thing I really focused on in regards to how I wanted this version to play, was the feeling of it taking time and causing tension to grab these new skills away from enemies, sometimes in the heat of battle. Instead of just killing enemies, grabbing their weapons, and using the items right away, I wanted that feeling you get when you're actively pulling away the magic and taking time to absorb the new powers. So that certainly ties into the whole design on my end.

It almost sounds as if IGA's reviving Curse of Darkness' "wait-for-purple-then-pull" rare item drop mechanic. And this emphasis he's making about "pulling" the power away and the feel of tension "in the heat of battle". Then again, maybe it's more like Odin Spehere, and you just have to hold a button down to absorb the glyph that floats out.

The fact that he keeps talking about tension tells me it's not going to be as simple as holding up, but that you have to do it at the right time, (like COD).

Interesting anyway. He keeps talking about this in various interviews.

which part of the storyline that was recently revealed say it's holy?

it's just all powerful magic. and the church usually detests magic.

I just remembered where I made that connection, and it could still be true.

Ecclesia means a congregation or gathering, and a common use for it is to describe a church.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ecclesia

That doesn't mean it has to mean a church, but it could still be true. Also, you have a point about magic kinda being against the church, and visa versa, but it would seem to me that a church would be the strongest gathered force against dark powers, and it could be that this magic that Shanoa possesses is actually holy.

Afterall IGA's used something similar before with Ms. Fortiner's cause in DOS. Although she was really just a misguided poser.

Well, you know what? I'm 28 and I don't want to play as a girl. Guess I'm old fashion. Besides, why make this girl the main protagonist if the Vampire Killer was passed on from the Belmonts to the Morris'? This game better reveal what happened to the Belmonts and why and how the Morris' received the Vampire Killer.

It has to; otherwise there's a huge gaping hole in the plotline... if you can call it a plotline.  :-\

So true especially how FF 13 isn't the first FF to have a female lead despite some FF "experts" claims and cries about.  One of the better FF games, Final Fantasy 6 had a female lead and I see no complaints from fans about her bein the main focus.  Either these whiners got into FF when 7 was out or have short term memories.

Besides, after FF6, all the lead male characters are similar in personality; I prefer having a different unique character like a female strong character for change rather than having every sequel and square related game with an antisocial whinny emo male lead with a bizarre haircut (points to FF7-10 and the world ends with you; haven't really gotten into 12)
