Actually, Prince of Persia is an action game with adventure puzzles. It could be compared to Zelda in several ways.

"Something like Zelda" is a vague misinterpretable statement anyway.

I'd say that's a rather tame Gamestop faux pas, ... if it is one...

I suppose it's not bad for Gamestop, but Zelda and Prince of Persia aren't very similar. While Prince of Persia is based mainly on cunning and stealthy  speed kills with a few bosses thrown in on occasion. The boss fights are extremely different from Zelda's. The typical boss fight (correct me if I'm wrong. I've only played one Prince of Persia game.) consists of climbing around on walls looking for an opportunity to jump down and speed kill the boss. In Zelda, there are numerous strategies you have to use to defeat bosses, like using the ice rod on the fire head and fire rod on the ice head, as well as the famous deflecting enemy attacks with a sword and striking them while they're stunned. Also, Zelda gameplay is based mainly on this pattern:
Find a dungeon from the world map, kill some enemies, solve a ton of puzzles, kill the mini boss, grab the treasure, use the new tool to get to the boss, kill the boss and go back to the world map.

Not only are there way more puzzles and obstacles than enemies (unlike Prince of Persia) but there's also a ton of exploring, as opposed to Prince of Persia's stages. There's no way to go back to previous levels or explore much.

Personally, I like Zelda WAY more than Prince of Persia! ;D

The person asking for a Zeldaesque game was obviously not a hardcore gamer, and did probably end up enjoying Prince of Persia anyway. I know plenty of people who'd consider the games to be similar, because "you move a guy around and you can slash at things". You need to understand the casual gamer if you work in a game store.

I'd even say Prince of Persia has MORE puzzles, as every bit of progress is based on solving one. It's a whole bunch of visual, observational riddles, stacked one on the other.

ICO's another game in this sort of vein.

Again, I've only played one of the games (Rival Swords) and didn't notice many puzzles. There were many fun areas with tons of wall running and platforming, but through the entire game, it was all platforming and fighting.

Oh, I don't count those as puzzles. When I think of a puzzle, I think of something you have to think very hard to solve. You don't have to think much in Prince of Persia platforming.

Well you kinda think as you go. That's the point: it keeps the pacing from getting too slow. But they are nonetheless clever setups of carefully planned layouts that demand the Prince's impressive movelist, and stages that make sense in the greater scheme.

The puzzle is figuring out how to proceed, and this has always been true with the series even before it went 3D.

I like the art for this game. Looks more menacing and less like a cartoon (looks more like CotM and since CotM was the best in the handheld series this is a good thing).

Any stores started taking preorders or giving out preorder bonuses?
