I stopped following the Sonic series after Sonic & Knuckles. That was pretty much the end of the good series to me.

Looks great to me, but I'm a fan of the boost sonic games like Colors and Generations so if your not a fan of those types of games I get why it would look bad, but I'm pretty excited for this.

The only things I dislike really is the Hedgehog creator and that they brought Classic Sonic back (which was not necessary due to Sonic Mania).

If you stopped at the Sonic and Knuckles series than Sonic Mania should be right up your alley, is a direct sequel to Sonic 3 and Knuckles and has the same graphics and gameplay.

It's explicit design outlook is to be like a lost Saturn Sonic game.

It's made by Sonic modders and hackers.

Mainly, the guy who made the ground up rebuild of Sonic CD that was released on phones and consoles not that long ago

Sonic Mania is pretty amazing, and probably the best 2D Sonic game there is.

RGT85 reviewed it and said it was an average game. Not terrible, not great. I find his review are generally pretty spot on. After Generations (which I really liked) I'm not so inclined to get this as I don't really like customizing characters. Particularly not for a Sonic game.
