I agree. It seems too sad, but I'm sure people looking for a LoS1 style of ending would love it.
I'm sure some people would love it. I know I probably won't hate this ending after actually seeing it, I just...where's Gabriel's closure? Him and Alucard are supposed to die and go up to heaven to be with Marie and live happily ever after.
Or at least make the game a happier version of LoS1's ending, with Marie being all like "You have to stay here and repent" and Gabriel's like "Ok, I'll do it right this time and then I can die and we can blah blah." Sure, it's probably way too sappy for some people, but IMO, that's what these games were leading up to.
This just better not be a Konami decision to make more sequels. I would love to see another LoS game, but NOT AFTER 2. 2 IS THE END.
Just stick one somewhere in the 800 years of Dracula sleep to show what the Belmonts did for so long.
EDIT: Oh my god, I just thought of something...
That statue in Zobek's room looks like the teleport statue in SotN. What if that's a sign that there's a secret ending?
I can dream, can't I? I mean, Mirror of Fate had an unlockable final cutscene...no, kill the hype, kill the hype...
