Okay so I scrambled through the forum to find a topic suitable for posting this without having to open yet another one, since there is no "Awesome Soundtracks That You Definitelly Should Give an Ear" sticky. I hope this doesn't count as topic necromancy :|

Here are some of the most badass themes I ever heard, and comes from an almost Castlevania game. Koumajo Densetsu, AKA Touhouvania. So it's only natural that there are tracks that are almost note-by-note copies of the originals, but with their own spins and liberties taken:

This one is meant to be a "Moon Fight" doppelganger; I love it.
Full Moon Duel - Koumajou Densetsu Scarlet Symphony Soundtrack

This one is original, and is very very short, but I REALLY like how it makes you feel the burden of the impending final battle:
Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony OST: Silence [Stage 8]

One of the most badass boss battle themes I ever heard. It screams "That Castlevania battle where you have to defeat your friend/brother/partner being controlled by darkness":
Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony OST: The Scarlet Devil Castle [Vs Remilia]

This one makes me really wet, even though it doesn't sound like a Castlevania thing. Sound more like a Final Fantasy theme:
紅魔城伝説Ⅱ Koumajou Densetsu II Stranger's Requiem: Remilia OST

Yeah, Frontier Aja's Scarlet Symphony is basically his love for Castlevania poured into a game that's as Metroidvania as anything that's been released by Konami. Terrific stuff.

That track The Scarlet Devil Castle [Vs Remilia] would fit in any of the Metroidvanias.

I thought this was worth a mention if just for the name, Leaves' Eyes - Symphony of the Night

Just thought of this one today.

Silver Bullet - 08 - Looking for Mr. One Eye

I actually think something like this could be used for more ambient areas in a more cinematic CV game. There really isn't one RIGHT way to do a score. Music like this prove that not all movies actually have "movie-like" scores either. What "works" works. You can have ambience without silence.

Edge of Night (Pippin's Song)

Even though it wouldn't work in the game itself, this song kinda reminds me of what a hero of Castlevania feels like, leaving his home to trek to Dracula's Castle.

I'll definitely have to remember this thread next time I hear a "that sounds kinda like Castlevania!" track. Watch me never find another track like that/forget about this thread.

I don´t know if anyone posted this, but playing Lollipop Chainsaw lately, I heard the first boss theme: Zed. Only the first part reminds me a Castlevania track a lot: Theme of Simon, specifically the SCIV version.

Music: Zed Boss Battle (From Lollipop Chainsaw)

Yes, only the first part. The rest of the track is not very Castlevania-ish :P.

Yeah, I know it's already been told that Actraiser's Fillmore theme sounds like Castlevania music, but this official YM2608 version almost sounds like it'd outright fit Castlevania 3.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I can never get enough of Fillmore. It's quite simply one of my favorite VG songs ever. It's just sick. That remix is totally Dracula's Curse too!

I thought this was worth a mention if just for the name, Leaves' Eyes - Symphony of the Night

If you're going down that route, there is also Malice Mizer's Gekka no Yasoukyoku:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC5xmmiKn9o

This is the song which led me to discovering jrock/visual-kei.  Here, the vocalist, Gackt, is cutting a rather Death-like figure.  However, this isn't the closest he's come to looking like a Castlevania character.  For his first solo song, Mizerable, he was pretty much cosplaying Alucard, especially in the accompanying photobook: http://worldjapan.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/gackt-3503.jpg.

Then there's Versailles's song Aristocrat's Symphony, which is a little Castlevania-ish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU0uLZWqRdE.
