What if Saint Germain were... a video game collector? Germain, across the entire game he appears in, says some oddly... Curious things.
First of all, Germain is aware of the fourth wall. He is also aware that
someone is pulling Hector's strings, and that this someone is beyond the screen. The player.
Second of all, Germain says the following:
"Faith in the morrow. Those are fine words. But not for me. As one who travels through time, I see the morrow differently... All the same."Do you know who can travel through a game's timeline at a moment's notice and sees "the morrow" of a game's universe as all the same? Us. You need only to look at your shelf:
Germain also implies that this is not the first time he's doing this (via knowing where Zead is, for instance) -- exactly like a player reloading a save.
And speaking of saves, third of all, Germain says that there is one being beyond his recollection... And that, after the whole turmoil is resolved, the flow of time has been "stabilized".
You know, "recollecting things" that disrupt the flow of time. Sounds awfully comparable to a
Memory Card corruption that he's trying to salvage.
He also says that
"Perhaps they'll remember your fight. Or perhaps it'll start anew." Perhaps you'll keep your saved data of helping Hector for the future generations to see, or perhaps you'll erase it and reset the game.
Is this meta enough to you?
