Already preordered physical for Switch. Might consider PS5 version in the future. I watched a little, but then I saw the hidden area under the swamp and realized I can't spoil any more! Not a big deal, but I hope my PM on this site came through about a little detail in the new demo.

This should answer all your questions. The specific item you're thinking of is the Muramasa, which enables and levels up through blood healing.

So I've been going through a SoTN kick, farming items and the like.

So I've found 2 blades that heal you (via Blood and the other does a Soul-steal like attack)

however there is 1 blade in the game, if I remember, you had to slay like 50,000/150,000 enemies (I think its the Tyrfing?) Can anyone help me remember?

I know there's a sword that turns enemies to stone and another one poison's them.

If you have Amazon Prime, Thief Gold and Thief II: The Metal Age are free via GOG. They're two of my all-time favorite games, first-person "sneakers" with a heavy emphasis on stealth, and were some of the earliest examples of the immersive sim genre.

General Castlevania Discussion / Re: What do you think now of the DS games?

I didn't care for them back in the day and the Dominus collection has confirmed that's still the case. OoE is interesting but I've never found it too enjoyable; the new gameplay mechanics mostly feel like interruptions instead of enhancements. DoS and PoR pretty shamelessly leverage the talent and work of the SotN, HoD, and AoS games, in more ways than just their assets. Don't get me started on the quality of the new art and sprites that they did make. They're all fun distractions and not bad games by any stretch but I find it impossible to feel anything but overwhelming disappointment towards them. I would honestly rather the games have not existed than have Castlevania fizzle out into asset reuse formulaic mediocrity for its final run.

Just finished playing Cyberpunk 2077. As far as massive open world first player perspective games go, I liked this a lot more than Elder Scrolls or Fallout. A lot of the side missions and fixers jobs were fun, and I really got deep into crafting and upgrading before the last update changed everything. Heh.

Also played No More Heroes 2. Very fun, but way easier than the first game. After I finished it, I immediately went to play Travis Strikes Again, not knowing what it was, and I don't really like it. I think I'll skip it and go to NMH3.

Then I played around with Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection, but I'm not sure what to think about it. Might come back to it. But I think I might play the PSP Ghosts N Goblins in the meantime. That one looks pretty awesome.

They were mostly the same as I remembered them. I liked all three. Portrait was the one I enjoyed the most, this time around. That surprised me. Level design was kind of weak in some spots, but it was still the most fun to play.

Still think the stories to all 3 games are not great, though.
