Street Fighter II (arcade) - The first fighting game I remember that was perfectly put together. So fun and addictive to play, and the original World Warrior version is still my favorite. I still go back and play it every now and then.

I agree, except that Champion Edition is my favorite. I still believe the Street Fighter games are the best fighting games out there because there are so many variables to them and they're so well put together. I like a lot of other fighting games, but I LOVE the Street Fighter games.

Other than that, probably Simon's Quest because it's what got me into gaming in the first place, and then Castlevania IV. I'd sold off my games to buy a guitar and hadn't played them for awhile but the urge to play SCVIV caused me to buy a friend's SNES and get back into gaming!

Super Mario Bros.
It made me interested in games in the first place.

Zelda: A Link to the Past.
It made me interested in stuff that wasn't Super Mario Bros.

Shining Force.
It made me intersted in RPG's.

Final Fantasy 6.
It fucking blew my mind.

Shenmue.
It helped me get back into gaming again after a few years absence.

Grand Theft Auto 4.
I'm not kidding. It makes me feel like a kid all over again.

It seems I haven't responded to the original topic. Well, when I was younger a LOT younger I remeber getting my N64 and having Banjo Kazooie. I'd always remebered the NES but then looking back and realizing that you didn't have the ability to save NES games was kind of a confusing concept for me. I guess since then I don't take the ability to save a game for granted. But other than that, Castlevania: AoS changed me a lot too. I guess it just seemed so cool. A huge action/adventure game with all those souls and it was all in 2D. Yeah it was pretty neat.

I'd have to say Ocarina of Time. I personally think that game is the closest to perfect gaming as the world has ever managed to get to. It's not a game. It's a LEGEND! From the death of the Great Deku Tree to the final confrontation with Ganondorf, there are so many priceless moments in the history of gaming, like Link's Transformation in the temple of time, the Gerudo Fortress, the lense of Truth in the Gerudo Valley, and escaping from Ganondorf's tower, as well as the final battle with Ganon with the master sword!

There were also classic boss fights like Queen Ghoma, The Dodongo King, Lord Jabujabu's Electric Parasite, Phantom Ganon, The Fire Dragon in Death Mountain, Twin Rova, and Bongo Bongo! And who could forget the legendary fight against Ganon? GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME! (No pun intended)

(Banjo Kazooie was AWESOME!)
