CV Music Influences

Influences/ripoffs etc in CV music I have noticed lately. Ok so I have been listening to absurd amounts of guitar tracks lately things like satriani, malmsteen, vai, timmons, and similar guys. I'm not just listening to these guys as background noise either which is important to mention. I am listening to these guys because I am also playing guitar and I am basically listening to this stuff 24/7 and paying close attention to what I am hearing. I listened to like 12 straight hours of satch yesterday while I was working on an ibanez I was fixing up. While I was listening to that I started to notice a few similarities and also pretty much direct ripoffs in some of the cv music.

Ok so we are all pretty familiar with the fact that cv 2 has a malmsteen bit in it or you should be familiar with it since it is talked about quite a bit. Not a real surprising thing for a game music composer to do this really. What is surprising is when you start to notice the amount this was done in cv music though. Some of it is almost directly if not directly copied. That stuff is more of a nod to the original artists that were what inspired the direction of the game composer and some of it is just heavily influenced by these guys and you can also hear the way it influenced the cv music a lot easier once you know what artist inspired a given track.

I really want to compile a list of various examples I just don't have time right now to find all the different examples of it. I can only think of 2 obvious ones off the top of my head to get it started. The malmsteen bit in cv 2 and a satch bit that is heard in the rondo soundtrack.

Example 1
Found in: Dwelling of Doom (Mansion BGM) Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES)
Composers: Kenichi Matsubara, Satoe Terashima
Note: I don't know if both composers worked on this particular track or not.

Taken from: Yngwie Malmsteen Far Beyond the Sun on the 1984 album Rising Force.

Pretty obviously directly copied from malmsteen even with the limits the NES hardware had. The structure of this particular bit is pretty exact.

Example 2
Found in: March of the Holy Man (Richter's Ending) Rondo of Blood (PC Engine)
Composers: Akiropito (Akira Sōji), Keizo Nakamura, Tomoko Sano, Mikio Saito
Note: I couldn't find the exact composer/s that worked on this specific track of the OST.

Taken from: Joe Satriani Hordes of Locusts on the 1986 album Not of This Earth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60DrNcsLAlU

As you can see both of these songs are very similar right in the beginning. Pretty obvious that march of the holy man intro was inspired by the hordes of locusts intro. They are not quite as close as the first example which is important because I mentioned some were practically ripped right off and some are just heavily inspired by various works.

I would love to add more examples to this but right now I don't have time to go through and find everything and pull up examples of it. I will when I get the chance though. If you can think of anything let me know please it will save me some time or might be something I didn't manage to catch on my own. If you find something or remember hearing an example just leave the song names in a post here in this thread and I will add them to the main post.

Also I can't seem to get youtube links to work properly and due to the lack of time can't sit and play around with it. If I can fix that later on I will but for now there are at least some links to the examples so you can hear them.

Hmm... I wonder..... that's a really hard one!  Tbh, I'm surprised that they didn't get in trouble for ripping it so directly (I don't know if they sought permission).  I've not heard of these guys before, not bad.
